Miami Dolphins Awarded Williams Off Waivers

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have been awarded defensive end Nick Williams off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs and have placed safety Reshad Jones on injured reserve.

Williams has played three seasons with the Chiefs (2014-16), appearing in 21 games with 14 tackles (nine solo). He played in five contests with the Chiefs this season, before he was waived on Oct. 18, 2016. Williams originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (223rd overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2013 NFL draft after playing collegiately at Samford.

Jones was the AFC’s fifth-leading tackler with 51 total stops (31 solo) through the first six games of the season, before he suffered a season-ending injury. Jones earned his first Pro Bowl selection following the 2015 season and was named the No. 64 player in the league on the NFL Network’s Top 100 list during the offseason.
