MIAMI DOLPHINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced the team has restructured the contracts of defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and linebacker Koa Misi and tendered six exclusive rights free agents – safety Shamiel Gary, wide receiver Matt Hazel, tackle Ulrick John, cornerback Tyler Patmon, tight end Jake Stoneburner and safety Michael Thomas. The team has also released wide receiver Greg Jennings.

Gary played in six games and started one for Miami in 2015. He totaled 10 tackles (seven solo) and one special teams stop. He made his first NFL start vs. New England on Jan. 3, 2016 and recorded one tackle in the victory. Gary was activated from the Dolphins’ practice squad on Nov. 28, 2015 and spent the 2015 offseason and training camp on Miami’s roster. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Patriots on May 12, 2014.

Hazel was a sixth-round selection (190th overall) by Miami in the 2014 NFL draft and spent most of the 2014 season on the Dolphins’ practice squad before earning a spot on the active roster for the entire 2015 campaign. He played in five games last season, registering one start.

John was signed by Miami on Nov. 2, 2015 from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad. He played in two games for the Dolphins, including Miami’s 20-10 win over New England on Jan. 3, 2016. He entered the league as a seventh-round draft pick (232nd overall) by Indianapolis in 2014.

Patmon played two games for Miami in 2015 after he was signed off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on Dec. 26. He also played in 11 games for the Cowboys in 2015 and started two, including Dallas’ Nov. 22, 2015 matchup at Miami. He totaled 13 tackles (11 solo) and six passes defensed. Patmon played in 11 games and both playoff contests for the Cowboys in 2014. On Nov. 2, 2014 against the Arizona Cardinals, Patmon returned his first career interception 58 yards for a touchdown. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Cowboys on May 21, 2014.

Stoneburner played in 11 games and started one for Miami in 2015. He totaled five receptions for 47 yards (9.4 avg.) and two touchdowns, including his first career score on Sept. 20, 2015 at Jacksonville. Stoneburner originally joined the Dolphins on Nov. 3, 2014 when he was signed to Miami’s practice squad. He was signed to Miami’s active roster on Sept. 14, 2015 where he remained for the rest of the season. Stoneburner originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Green Bay Packers on May 10, 2013.

Thomas has played in 27 career games and made 15 starts during his three-year tenure (2013-15) with Miami. The Stanford product played in all 16 games in 2015 and started 13 of them, totaling a career-high 71 tackles (56 solo). He made six tackles (five solo) and had one pass defensed in the season-ending victory against New England on Jan. 3, 2016. Thomas was signed off San Francisco’s practice squad on Dec. 10, 2013 and was re-signed by the Dolphins on April 1, 2015. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with the 49ers on May 4, 2012.

Jennings played in all 16 games for the Dolphins in 2015 and totaled 19 receptions for 208 yards (10.9 avg.) and one touchdown. He was signed by the team on April 23, 2015. During his 10-year NFL career, Jennings has played 143 games and started 119 of them for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Miami. He has caught 571 career passes for 8,291 yards (14.5 avg.) and 64 touchdowns. Jennings entered the league as a second-round pick (52nd overall) by Green Bay in the 2006 NFL draft.
