Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed cornerback Brandon Harris and waived cornerback Tyler Patmon. The team has also activated running back Arian Foster from the physically unable to perform list (PUP) and has placed defensive end Dion Jordan on the active/non-football injury (NFI) list.

Harris has played in 42 career games since entering the NFL as a second-round (60th overall) selection of the Houston Texans in the 2011 NFL draft. He played in 31 games during a three-year stint with the Texans (2011-13) before he was acquired off waivers by the Tennessee Titans in 2014. Harris missed the entire 2015 season due to injury. He has recorded 39 tackles (31 solo) and 10 passes defensed in his career. A Miami native, Harris attended Booker T. Washington High School before playing collegiately at the University of Miami.

Foster was signed by the Dolphins as a free agent on July 18, 2016 and was placed on the PUP list on July 29, 2016. He has played in 76 career games with 68 starts and totaled 6,472 rushing yards during his seven-year NFL career – all with the Houston Texans (2009-15). His 6,472 rushing yards are second all-time among undrafted NFL players. He started four games for Houston in 2015 before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 7.

Jordan was originally selected by the Dolphins in the first round (third overall) of the 2013 NFL draft. He was suspended indefinitely in April 2015 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy and conditionally reinstated by the league on July 29, 2016. During his two seasons with the Dolphins (2013-14), Jordan played in 26 games with one start and totaled 37 tackles (31 solo) and three sacks.

Patmon played in two games for the Dolphins in 2015 after he was activated from the team’s practice squad for the final two weeks of the season. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 and played in 22 games with two starts for the Cowboys in 2014 and 2015. Patmon played collegiately at Oklahoma State.
