2023 Miami Dolphins Reporting Policy

All media in attendance at Dolphins practices are required to comply with the following reporting policies. These policies, in accordance with NFL regulations, are intended to protect the integrity of competition. Generally, any information that could help an opponent prepare for playing the Dolphins is off limits.

Media covering practice may:

  • Note which players are practicing, as well as those who are not.
  • Mention newsworthy events (i.e. exceptional catches, standout performers) which are not prohibited below.
  • Include non-strategy and non-game plan observations.
  • Consult a member of the Dolphins Communications staff before immediately posting speculation on topics such as why a player may not be practicing.

Media covering practice may NOT:

  • Live blog or tweet from practice for any practices closed to fans. All posts/updates must wait until the team has concluded formal practice.
  • Live stream on any social platform or website from practice. This includes interview availabilities, open practice sessions and other team activities on club premises.
  • Reference plays run or game strategy. This includes describing formations, motions or non-conventional plays.*
  • Report which players are practicing with individual units. This includes first/second-team groupings, position changes or specifics (i.e. if on/off the ball) and situational units (i.e. goal line offense, nickel defense, etc.).*
  • Describe the detail of or speculate on any injury a player may sustain during practice. Media are also prohibited from describing the detail of any rehabilitation activities a player may be engaged in during practice.*
  • Report, paraphrase or reference comments overheard between players, coaches and staff while on-site.*
  • Record any photos or video (including on camera phones) after the shooting period has ended and until the last player or coach has left the field at the conclusion of practice.*

*This information may also not be included in reporting (social media or otherwise) at a later date.
