Running Back Arian Foster

(On what he has left in the tank in terms of his playing career) – “I still feel like I’m a Pro Bowl-caliber player, and I intend to show it.”

(On whether he is fully recovered from his Achilles injury) – “I am.”

(On whether he expects to be a starter) – “I don’t have any expectations. I’m just coming here to compete and help the squad out however I can.”

(On his free agency visits) – “My interest and their (other teams) interest was spotty here and there. But after my visit with Miami, I kind of already made my mind up that that’s where I wanted to be, so I was stressing to my agent that I wanted to get the deal done, because I see a lot of promise in this team, and I feel like I can add value and help the team get to where they want to be. I’m going to try to do that as best as possible.”

(On Head Coach Adam Gase’s offense) – “I think (Head Coach) Adam (Gase) really knows how to use running backs out of the backfield, which I feel like is my best quality – route running and catching the ball out of the backfield. I think he knows how to steer the ship. I’m just happy to be a part (of it and) have a seat on the boat now.”

(On selling himself to teams after the injuries he has suffered) – “I don’t really worry about that stuff. That’s what an agent is for. I don’t sell myself.”

(On if he sensed any hesitation or reluctance around the league to sign him and what the free agency market was like for him) – “I know that this league knows that when I’m on the field, I’m one of the most productive doing it. If there was any reluctance, it was on their end, and that’s really none of my business. All I have to do is … All I can control is how hard I work and what I put into this game.”

(On his thoughts about the Dolphins in general and the team’s youth) – “Yes, a young and hungry team with a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.  I think they have the right head coach and the right people in the front office and they are all committed to winning. I know it sounds cliché but I believe they are headed in the right direction and I feel we can do some good things this year if everybody is moving in the right direction and we gel.”

(On if it is strange that he signed with the Dolphins after his season ended against the Dolphins last year) – “Not really.”

(On the Dolphins and Texans swapping running backs and if he feels he has something to prove to Houston) – “I don’t have anything to prove to anybody. The time that I spent in Houston was an amazing time. I’m grateful for the people I’ve met and the family that I made there. My family lives there now so I have nothing but love for the people and fans in Houston.  It is just a new chapter of my life. There’s nothing that I have to prove. I’m pretty sure Lamar (Miller) feels the same way. There is nothing he has to prove. We are all on our own personal journey helping out where we can and doing what we love to do.  It’s as simple as that.”
