Postgame – Jacksonville (London)

WR Jaylen Waddle (transcribed by NFL Communications)

Q: How would you describe how your teammate, Tua, played today?

JAYLEN WADDLE: I think he played well. Honestly, you know, first game back, and I think he played really well.

Q: What was going through your mind on that 91-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter during that drive for you and the offensive team?

JAYLEN WADDLE: We knew we needed it. It was big, so I think the key thing was just believing in each other. I think we showcased our ability real well. So just doing that consistently is going to be the challenge for us.

Q: How surprised to be 1-5 at this point in the season?

JAYLEN WADDLE: Honestly, you never like, just, guess, what you’re going to be. You just go about it every day, every week, try to get better for the most part. So it’s not like, you know, you look at it like you’re 1-4 or you’re this and that. You just try to get better every week.

Q: The team decided to punt on fourth down and short in two situations and then near the end of the game, the team decided to go for it. Curious, what were you thinking when you realized that there was going to be an offensive play there?

JAYLEN WADDLE: You’ve got to just get out there, honestly. That go higher up to the coaches and they trust in the offense to go for it in that situation.

Q: You had a couple battles — how would you describe it?

JAYLEN WADDLE: Tough. He’s a really good player. Obviously ,his brother is on the team. He’s a really good player but we knew that going into the game, he’s tough. Just going into the game, it’s great to experience that and go against great players and try to earn the respect from someone you used to watch and things like that. It was good.

Q: What’s going on in the second and third quarter?

JAYLEN WADDLE: Can you say that again? You said that kind of fast, I’m sorry.

Q: You finished well in the first quarter and fourth quarter, why the slowdown with the second and third quarter?

JAYLEN WADDLE: I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a slowdown period or things like that. I think it just goes back to executing and getting our basic plays and just run them, run them well.

Q: It’s not the Dolphins locker room but it is a locker room in a strange place. How would you describe the feelings in there at this time?

JAYLEN WADDLE: Everyone is disappointed. I think just coming all the way over here, it was a great atmosphere and just everyone wants to win every week. So it’s disappointing.

Q: The execution —

JAYLEN WADDLE: It don’t really mean nothing if we don’t win. That’s what tops it off.

Q: Multiple injuries, how do you think the rest of the team pulled together and do you think —

JAYLEN WADDLE: Definitely. I think we have trust in all our receivers. I think we have a good core, and I think everyone filled in really well, and I think they just going to continue to build.
