(Almost 24 hours to reflect here sort of, what are the emotions today as you guys clean out the lockers?) – “I think there’s a balance of frustration, disappointment and a little bit of sadness, too, but also a little bit of happy heart knowing that we were able to learn a lot about each other, the guys in this locker room. It’s always a blessing to be able to make out a season healthy personally, but then as a team obviously not achieving what you wanted to, learning a lot along the way, sharing – I’m looking at these lockers and the names right now and a lot of them are going to change. A lot of them are going to be new. Knowing that the 2024 Dolphins were what we were, underachieved definitely from our goals and our expectations, but man, the way that a lot of guys fought all the way to the end to the very last game with all the things that we went through internally as a team and then obviously the opponents that we played, definitely hold your head up high knowing that we gave our best effort till the end.”

(You’ve been in a locker right next to WR Tyreek Hill. Were you surprised when he seemed to indicate he wanted to leave Miami?) – “I think Tyreek (Hill) is an emotional guy and he’s a competitor like a lot of us are. You get to know a guy like that over a few seasons. I’m upset that things had to be shared the way they were, but at the end of the day, I have a lot of respect for him, obviously sharing a lot of time in the lockers with him. The practice field, the game field, just seeing his light and his energy; he’s a really great teammate that I’ve had the fortune to play against and then play with as well. I think a lot of guys were emotional after the game so I’m going to take that with a grain of salt. Obviously we’re going to continue to have conversations, but he’s a great competitor, great teammate, and yeah, we’ll see what the offseason brings.”

(After the game Chairman of the Board/Managing General Partner Stephen Ross made it clear that General Manager Chris Grier and Head Coach Mike McDaniel would be returning. How pleased are you knowing that these guys will still be here next year to try to do this again?) – “I think that some consistency in learning and improving, I think there’s going to be a lot of intentional improvements, a lot of intentional changes made this offseason. I think it gives confidence to the guys that are going to be in this locker room knowing that we have a clear vision. We’ve learned a lot over the past couple years and I know not a whole lot of fans might want to hear that, but at the same time the players in the locker room and that consistency, I think will bode well for us. I think any time you change just to change probably doesn’t make the most amount of sense and understanding that we have a lot of confidence in the guys in the room to be able to solve problems, to continue to solve problems and figure that we have the awareness that what we’ve experienced this year will serve good for the future of the organization. I think that all breeds positivity moving forward, and I think that we’ve definitely laid a lot of bricks down that we can grow off of and we know what it takes to be successful down the stretch.”
