Postgame – Cincinnati

C Daniel Kilgore

(With QB Ryan Fitzpatrick having time to spin it around today to all of the receivers including Gesicki.) – “Yeah. I think it’s just us continuing to work on our craft. Offensive line-wise, there are still some things we’ve got to clear up. They did a good job attacking our edges and putting our backs one-on-one with a lot guys; but for the most part, it was a step forward compared to what we’ve done in the past. We’ll continue to work. We’ve got one more week and we’ll keep doing it.”

(What was said in that final drive in the huddle? What was QB Ryan Fitzpatrick saying to you and all?) – “We all knew the situation. There was not much to be said, honestly. We were just dialed in, knowing that we had to get in at least field goal territory. Ball security, being alert, anything that the defense wanted to give us was going to … at that point, they were kind of in desperation mode at that point. So just for us, we just knew what we had to get done and luckily ‘Fitz’ and guys made big plays. Jason (Sanders) came in and put it through the uprights.”

(Did you know QB Ryan Fitzpatrick at all before this year?) – “I did not. I did not, and I’m glad I do now because he’s the man.”

(What was it like today seeing QB Ryan Fitzpatrick throw the ball like he did?) – “It’s just exciting every week because he plays with so much joy and you can just tell he loves the game. For him to be as old as he is and still going out and running around making throws and making calls and doing things that normal people can’t do, it’s pretty exciting and I love to play for him. He loves his teammates, he loves the staff and he is an awesome leader. He is probably top five for me as far as teammates.”

(Of all time?) – “Of all time.”
