WR Jarvis Landry

(First of all, I want to ask you about the legal situation. What is your comment on the situation?) – “I’ve been upfront with the team. I’ve been upfront with the … and the law enforcement. Hopefully this gets resolved in a timely fashion.”

(Everything that’s written, that’s untrue? You did nothing wrong?) – “Exactly.”

(Can you tell us what happened? As I understand it, were you trying to prevent her from getting into your residence?) – “Like I said, I’ve been very upfront with the team. I’ve been very upfront with the law enforcement. I’m here at training camp to help my guys get better. I don’t want any bad attention to me, this organization, (Head Coach) Adam (Gase), nobody. I don’t believe this is the place for it or the time for it. I think that … Again like I said, I’ve been very upfront with the team and I’ve been very upfront with the law enforcement. I put that in their hands and that’s really all I have to say about it.”

(Your impressions of your new quarterback, Jay Cutler?) – “Good, good. I finally get a chance to see him out here today and have an opportunity to take a couple of reps with him today. I think he slung it pretty well.”

(I heard that QB Jay Cutler has a lively ball. Can you tell the difference in your hands when it hits your hands that this is a different guy throwing it?) – “We didn’t hookup today. We didn’t hookup today; but hopefully tomorrow we get a chance to hookup and I’ll give you a better analysis tomorrow.”

(Do you have a plan to make sure QB Jay Cutler knows that you have to get a certain number of balls?) – “No, I don’t. (Laughter) I’ll leave that up to (Head) Coach (Adam) Gase. I think he puts us in the best position to make plays. I think we got the guy back there that can figure it out and get the ball in the right people’s hands at the right time.”

(How long do you feel like it would take any guy to become a Miami Dolphin when he walks in like right before the first preseason game?) – “Honestly, when you walk into this facility and you’re wearing these colors, you are family. For Jay (Cutler), we welcomed him with opened arms. We’ve extended all of our contacts, all of our resources to him and his family. That’s just what it is.”

(What’s your conversation with QB Ryan Tannehill been like since this all went down?) – “(I’m) just continuing to encourage him, continuing to let him know that we have his back, continuing to be there for him. It sucks and it’s very unfortunate.”

(How do you think QB Jay Cutler will blend in with this team? Any issues?) – “No, I don’t believe there will be any issues. I don’t believe there will be any issues. I believe that he’s going to come in, he’s going to fit right in. He’s played with (Head Coach) Adam (Gase) for a year or two so he has the system under his belt a little bit. I think once he gets adjusted to the heat, I think that will be the big adjustment.”

(How was the zip on QB Jay Cutler’s ball today?) – “Like I said earlier, we didn’t hook up today; but hopefully tomorrow we’ll hook up and I’ll get back to you on that one.”

(What kind of a comfort is it knowing that you get a guy like QB Jay Cutler to come in when your quarterback goes down?) – “It’s good, Like I was just saying, I think he’s had a year or two under (Head) Coach (Adam) Gase. To know the system the way that he does and have the opportunity to still have that free range to check and be the general out there, it’s going to help our offense a lot.”
