DOLPHINS TRADE FOR ROSEN
- After not making any draft-day trades in 2018, the Dolphins made two on Friday.
- In the first trade, Miami sent a 2019 second-round pick (48th overall) and a 2019 fourth-round pick (116th overall) to New Orleans for a 2019 second-round pick (62nd overall), a 2019 sixth-round pick (202nd overall) and a 2020 second-round pick.
- The Dolphins then used the 2019 second-round pick (62nd overall) acquired from New Orleans and sent it, along with a 2020 fifth-round pick, to Arizona in exchange for QB Josh Rosen.
- According to ESPN, the Dolphins are the first franchise since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970 to acquire a first-round quarterback drafted by another team after just one season.
- Rosen was the youngest starting quarterback in Cardinals history and became the youngest QB since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger to post a double-digit fourth-quarter comeback victory in the team’s Week 8 victory vs. San Francisco.
- If Rosen starts a game for the Dolphins, he’ll be the first UCLA quarterback to record a start for the franchise.
DOLPHINS SELECT OL MICHAEL DEITER IN THE THIRD ROUND
- Deiter is the ninth player in Dolphins history to be drafted from Wisconsin and the first since CB Jamar Fletcher (26th overall) and WR Chris Chambers (52nd overall) were selected in 2001.
- Deiter is the first Wisconsin player to be selected by the Dolphins in the third round and joins OL Jeff Dellenbach as the only Wisconsin offensive linemen to be chosen by Miami.
- Deiter was a first-team All-American as a senior in 2018 and a second-team All-American as a junior in 2017. He started a school-record 54 games.

- With the Dolphins’ trades today, the team now holds additional picks in the second (New Orleans), fourth (Tennessee), sixth (Dallas) and seventh (Kansas City) rounds of the 2020 NFL draft. Miami also holds all of their own selections in 2020 except for their fifth-round choice (Arizona).
- Deiter’s selection is Miami’s first offensive lineman drafted since G Isaac Asiata was chosen in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft (164th overall). The Dolphins did not draft an offensive lineman in the 2018 NFL draft, marking the only draft in the team’s 54-year history without an offensive lineman selected.
