POSTGAME NOTES

DOLPHINS ERASE 17-POINT DEFICIT TO WIN IN ATLANTA

• The Dolphins came back from a 17-0 deficit to beat Atlanta. It is tied for the sixth-largest comeback victory in Dolphins history.
• Miami’s 17-point comeback was the team’s largest since a 21-point comeback vs. Buffalo on Dec. 4, 2005.
• The 17-point come-from-behind victory was Miami’s largest comeback on the road since an 18-point comeback at the N.Y. Jets on Nov. 27, 1994, also known as the “Fake Spike” game.
• Today’s win is Miami’s 12th in its past 16 regular season games, dating back to Week 6 of the 2016 season. It is the team’s best 16-game stretch since they won 13 of 17 from Oct. 28, 2001 to Oct. 13, 2002.
• This i­s the Dolphins’ first win in Atlanta since Sept. 21, 1980, when they beat the Falcons 20-17. This is just the fifth time Miami has played in Atlanta in the team’s 52-year history.
• Miami has now won three of its first five games of the season for the first time since 2013, when they were also 3-2 after five contests.
• The Dolphins have now won six of their past eight regular season road games. The team won four of its final five road contests in 2016 and is 2-1 on the road this year with a win at the L.A. Chargers on Sept. 17.

DOLPHINS DEFENSE SLAMS DOOR ON THE FALCONS

• The Dolphins defense continued to shine as the team held Atlanta’s high-powered offense scoreless in the second half of the comeback victory. The last time the Falcons were held scoreless in a half was 23 games ago (including playoffs) on Jan. 3, 2016 in the second half vs. New Orleans.
• Miami is one of just two teams in the NFL (Buffalo is the other) to not allow more than 20 points in a game this season.
• The Dolphins limited the Falcons to just 106 net yards in the second half. It was Atlanta’s lowest second-half yardage output since Oct. 26, 2014 when they had 80 yards in the second half vs. Detroit. That covers a span of 47 games.
• Atlanta’s 339 net offensive yards was a season low and their fewest since Dec. 11, 2016 at the L.A. Rams, a span of 10 games.

AJAYI POSTS HIS SIXTH CAREER 100-YARD GAME

• RB Jay Ajayi rushed for 130 yards on 26 carries (5.0 avg.) today. It’s the sixth 100-yard game of his career and his second this season. Ajayi rushed for 122 yards on 28 carries (4.4 avg.) in the season opener at the L.A. Chargers on Sept. 17, 2017.

CUTLER LEADS FOURTH-QUARTER COMEBACK

• In the second half today, QB Jay Cutler was 11-of-19 (57.9 pct.) for 87 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for a 104.5 quarterback rating.
• It was the 23rd fourth-quarter or overtime comeback victory in his career and 14th on the road.
• This was the first time in Cutler’s 144-game NFL career that he brought a team back to win from a deficit as large as 17 points.

PARKEY HITS GAME-WINNING KICK FOR SECOND TIME THIS YEAR

• K Cody Parkey made his second game-winning kick this season, drilling a 38-yard field goal with 2:30 remaining. He also made a 49-yard kick to tie the game with 8:34 to go.
• It’s the first time in Parkey’s career that he has made a game-tying and game-winning kick in the fourth quarter in the same game.
• This was the fourth game-winning kick of Parkey’s career.
• K Cody Parkey has made all seven of his field goal attempts this year. Entering today, only eight NFL kickers, including Parkey, were perfect in field goal attempts this season.

STILLS TD GETS MIAMI ON THE BOARD

• WR Kenny Stills got the Dolphins on the board with an 11-yard touchdown in the third quarter from QB Jay Cutler, capping off a 15-play, 75-yard drive that took 8:43 off the clock.
• The 8:43 drive was Miami’s longest offensive possession by time since a 9:10 drive at the N.Y. Jets on Dec. 1, 2013.
• It was Stills’ second touchdown of the season. He led the Dolphins with nine receiving touchdowns last year, which was tied for sixth in the NFL.

LANDRY SCORES FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK

• WR Jarvis Landry caught a 7-yard touchdown from QB Jay Cutler in the third quarter, the second straight week that Landry has reeled in a touchdown after his 6-yard score last week vs. Tennessee.
• It’s just the second time in Landry’s career that he has caught a touchdown in back-to-back games. He had one score on Nov. 13, 2014 vs. Buffalo and two touchdowns in the team’s next game on Nov. 23, 2014 at Denver.

DENNEY MOVES INTO THIRD PLACE IN DOLPHINS ALL-TIME GAMES PLAYED

• LS John Denney played in his 197th career game today, passing Bob Kuechenberg for third place in team history. Denney has played all 197 games in his 13-year NFL career and is the team’s all-time leader in consecutive games played (197).
