He spent portions of the past two seasons (2014-15) on the Dolphins practice squad after joining the team’s practice squad initially on Nov. 3, 2014. Stoneburner originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2013 and played collegiately at Ohio State.

McCain played in all 16 games with four starts as a rookie for Miami in 2015. He recorded 22 tackles (19 solo) on defense and added six special teams stops (four solo). McCain was placed on the physically unable to perform list on July 29, 2016. He originally joined the Dolphins as one of the team’s fifth-round selections (145th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft.
