Miami Dolphins re-sign Bethel
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed cornerback Justin Bethel.
Bethel joined the Dolphins on Sept. 1, 2022 and played in all 17 games for Miami, totaling 16 tackles (11 solo), one interception and four passes defensed. He also had 10 special teams tackles (six solo). He’s entering his 12th NFL season, having played in 176 career games with 14 starts for Arizona (2012-17), Atlanta (2018), Baltimore (2019), New England (2019-21) and Miami (2022). He’s a three time Pro Bowl selection (2013-15) and earned first-team All-Pro honors twice (2013, 2015) on special teams. Bethel originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick (177th overall) by Arizona in the 2012 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Presbyterian.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel.
Van Ginkel was a fifth-round pick (151st overall) by Miami in the 2019 NFL Draft and has played in 56 consecutive games with 31 starts. He has 150 career tackles (96 solo), 11.0 sacks, one interception, 13 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also has a fumble return for a touchdown and a blocked punt return for a touchdown. Van Ginkel played collegiately at Wisconsin.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker Malik Reed as an unrestricted free agent from Pittsburgh.
Reed has played four NFL seasons for two franchises, spending three years with Denver (2019-21) and one with Pittsburgh (2022). He’s played in 59 career games with 36 starts, totaling 143 tackles (79 solo), 16.0 sacks, six passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His most productive season came in 2020 when he started 13 games and recorded eight sacks. Reed was originally an undrafted college free agent out of Nevada when he signed with Denver on May 2, 2019.

Miami Dolphins exercise fifth-year option on Tagovailoa
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have exercised the fifth-year option on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He is now signed through the 2024 season.
Tagovailoa was the NFL’s highest-rated passer in 2022 with a 105.5 rating. At just 24 years old, he became the youngest player to lead the league in passer rating since Dan Marino did so in 1984. Tagovailoa has played in 36 career games with 34 starts, all for Miami. He’s completed 708-of-1,078 career passes (65.7 pct.) for 8,015 yards and 52 touchdowns. His career passer rating of 95.0 is the highest in Dolphins history and his 65.7 career completion percentage ranks second among all-time Dolphins passers. In 2022, Tagovailoa was voted a team captain and won the Don Shula Leadership Award, selected by his teammates. He originally entered the NFL as the fifth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by Miami following a standout collegiate career at Alabama.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed wide receiver River Cracraft, fullback John Lovett and cornerback Nik Needham.
Cracraft joined the Dolphins on Feb. 17, 2022 and played in 11 games last year, totaling nine receptions for 102 yards (11.3 avg.) and two touchdowns. He’s played in five NFL seasons for three teams, spending time with Denver (2018-19), San Francisco (2020-21) and Miami (2022). In his career, Cracraft has appeared in 35 games with one start, totaling 16 catches for 187 yards (11.7 avg.) and two scores. He’s also played in three postseason games. Cracraft originally entered the league with Denver on Oct. 18, 2017 following a collegiate career at Washington State.
Lovett joined the Dolphins on Feb. 18, 2022 but missed the 2022 season due to injury. He previously spent time on Kansas City’s practice squad in 2019 and Green Bay’s active roster in 2020, where he appeared in eight games and totaled three carries for six yards (2.0 avg.). Lovett originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Kansas City on May 6, 2019. He played collegiately at Princeton, where he was a quarterback and running back.
Needham has spent four seasons with Miami after he was originally signed as an undrafted college free agent on May 9, 2019. He’s played in 51 career games with 27 starts, totaling 192 tackles (141 solo), three sacks, six interceptions, 25 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Needham played in six games with five starts for Miami in 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury. His 11 passes defensed in 2019 were second-most among all NFL rookies despite being undrafted. Needham played collegiately at UTEP.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed Pro Bowl punter Jake Bailey and wide receiver Braxton Berrios.
Bailey played four seasons (2019-22) with New England after he was a fifth-round pick (163rd overall) by the Patriots in the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s played in 58 career games, totaling 10,189 punt yards with 102 inside the 20 and a 40.9 net average. He’s also played in two postseason games. Bailey was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team in 2020 after he posted a league-best 45.6 net average. He played collegiately at Stanford.
Berrios played four seasons for the N.Y. Jets from 2019-22 and appeared in 65 games with five starts. He’s caught 107 passes for 1,085 yards (10.1 avg.) and five touchdowns and rushed 19 times for 160 yards (8.4 avg.) and four touchdowns. He’s also been active on special teams with 67 career kickoff returns for 1,667 yards (24.9 avg.) and one touchdown and 67 punt returns for 767 yards (11.4 avg.). Berrios originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (210th overall) by New England in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at the University of Miami where he earned third-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2017.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed safety DeShon Elliott as an unrestricted free agent from Detroit and offensive lineman Dan Feeney as an unrestricted free agent from the N.Y. Jets.
Elliott has played in 42 career games with 35 starts in his four NFL seasons. He spent the first four years (2018-21) of his career with Baltimore and one year (2022) with Detroit. Elliott has totaled 201 career tackles (145 solo), 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, 10 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He’s also started two playoff games. Elliott was originally a sixth-round pick (190th overall) by Baltimore in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Texas, where he was teammates with current Dolphins safety Brandon Jones and offensive lineman Connor Williams.
Feeney has played six NFL seasons – four for the L.A. Chargers (2017-20) and two for the N.Y. Jets (2021-22). He’s played in 96 career games with 64 starts – 40 at left guard, 20 at center, two at right guard and two as an extra offensive lineman. He’s also started two postseason games. Feeney was originally a third-round pick (71st overall) by the L.A. Chargers in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Indiana.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker David Long Jr. as an unrestricted free agent from Tennessee and tight end Eric Saubert as an unrestricted free agent from Denver.
Long played four seasons (2019-22) for Tennessee, appearing in 50 games with 26 starts. He’s recorded 223 career tackles (134 solo), four interceptions, 14 passes defensed and two forced fumbles. Long has also appeared in five playoff games with three starts. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (188th overall) by Tennessee in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at West Virginia, where he was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2018.
Saubert has played six seasons for four different teams, spending time with Atlanta (2017-18), Chicago (2019), Jacksonville (2020) and Denver (2021-22). He’s played in 74 career games with 15 starts, catching 33 passes for 280 yards (8.5 avg.) and two touchdowns. Saubert posted career highs in receptions (15) and receiving yards (148) for Denver in 2022, playing in all 17 games with a career-best six starts. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (174th overall) by Atlanta in the 2017 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Drake.
