Miami Dolphins make practice squad transactions

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed wide receiver Cody Core and defensive back Chris Milton to the practice squad and released center Evan Boehm and linebacker Kobe Jones from the practice squad.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed defensive back Elijah Campbell on injured reserve. The team has also elevated cornerback Javaris Davis and safety Sheldrick Redwine for Sunday’s game.

Campbell was awarded off waivers to the Dolphins on Sept. 1, 2021. He’s played in seven games for Miami this year, totaling two special teams stops. Campbell previously played for the N.Y. Jets (2020), the XFL’s D.C. Defenders (2020) and the AAF’s Birmingham Iron (2019). Campbell originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland on May 4, 2018.

Davis joined the Dolphins off waivers from Kansas City on July 27, 2020. He spent the entire 2020 and 2021 seasons on Miami’s practice squad but has yet to appear in an NFL game. Davis originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Kansas City on April 30, 2020.

Redwine joined the Dolphins on Oct. 26, 2021 but has yet to appear in a game. He appeared in two contests with the N.Y. Jets earlier this season, totaling three tackles (two solo) and three special teams stops.  Redwine spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with Cleveland. In his career, he’s appeared in 29 games with eight starts, totaling 60 tackles (41 solo), one interception and three passes defensed. Redwine originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (119th overall) by Cleveland in the 2019 NFL Draft. A Miami native, he played at the University of Miami and Killian High School.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker Vince Biegel to the active roster and have been awarded running back Phillip Lindsay off waivers from Houston. The team also signed linebacker Wynton McManis to the practice squad.

Biegel joined the Dolphins in a trade from New Orleans on Sept. 1, 2019. He’s played in 16 games with 10 starts since then, totaling 57 tackles (26 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and one pass defensed. All of Biegel’s 10 starts came during the 2019 season prior to missing the 2020 campaign due to injury. He’s spent the past five weeks on Miami’s practice squad and was elevated twice, appearing in one game. Biegel originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (108th overall) by Green Bay in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Lindsay has played in 52 career games with 33 starts for Denver (2018-20) and Houston (2021). He’s totaled 584 carries for 2,680 yards (4.6 avg.) and 18 touchdowns. Lindsay also has 80 career receptions for 502 yards (6.3 avg.) and two touchdowns. He earned a Pro Bowl selection and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2018 after he rushed for 1,037 yards as a rookie. Lindsay also had a 1,000-yard season in 2019 with 1,011 yards. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Denver on May 1, 2018.

Miami Dolphins Feeds More Than 8,500 with Thanksgiving Meals Throughout South Florida

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –The Miami Dolphins impacted more than 8,500 South Florida community members in hosting and contributing to a series of Thanksgiving meal distributions from Tuesday, Nov. 16 – Tuesday, Nov. 23. The team collaborated with the Miami Dolphins Foundation, Football UNITES™ community partners, local minority-owned restaurants, team partners, Miami Gardens churches and dignitaries to feed those in-need in the days leading up to the holiday.

“The Miami Dolphins are excited to make a year-round impact in our community, especially during Thanksgiving,” Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President of Communications and Community Affairs Jason Jenkins said. “These meals unite our community and we recognize the additional need to not only support families, but local businesses during this time.”

“We’re proud to partner with the Miami Dolphins and Feeding South Florida to ensure thousands of South Florida families can fill their pantries and have a great Thanksgiving,” said Nathan Landsbaum, President and CEO of Sunshine Health. Ambetter from Sunshine Health presented the Thanksgiving meal distribution at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 23.

Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program Thanksgiving distribution events included:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 16: Miami Dolphins S Sheldrick Redwine hosted a drive-thru Thanksgiving donation distributing 333 meals at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade.
  • Saturday, Nov. 20: The Miami Dolphins Foundation in partnership with First Horizon Foundation hosted a drive-through Thanksgiving meal distribution at IberiaBank in Overtown. With 1,000 meals purchased by the Dolphins’ Food Relief Program and provided by Black-owned restaurant The Licking, the initiative fed community members of organizations including Camillus House, Lotus House, the Overtown Optimist Club, Overtown Youth Center, YMCA Allapattah and the YWCA.
  • Monday, Nov. 22: United Way of Broward’s Mission United in partnership with the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program distributed 800 meals to Broward County’s military veterans, active reserve members and their families at the United Way of Broward County’s Colker Center. Joined by Miami Dolphins LS Blake Ferguson, the Food Relief Program coordinated with veteran owned business S&J Catering to purchase and provide 600 meals in continuation of the program’s efforts to support local minority-owned businesses.
  • Monday, Nov. 22: Miami Dolphins LB Jerome Baker in collaboration with the Miami Dolphins Football UNITES™ program hosted a Thanksgiving distribution with the North Miami Police Department. Preselected by the North Miami Police Athletic League (NMPAL), 20 families had the opportunity to interact with Baker as they picked up meal kits and Dolphins giveaways. Baker purchased 20 Publix meal boxes capable of feeding a family of four complete with a turkey and sides.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 22: Miami Dolphins CB Xavien Howard distributed 35 Publix meal boxes to families at the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. Howard purchased the meal kits capable of feeding a family of four.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 23: Miami Dolphins DE Christian Wilkins partnered with Dade County Federal Credit Union (DCFCU) to distribute 120 Thanksgiving turkeys to preselected families of DCFCU’s Head Start Program in Homestead, FL.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 23: The Miami Dolphins hosted a drive-through Thanksgiving Meal Distribution presented by Ambetter from Sunshine Health at Hard Rock Stadium. Joined by Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores and players Cethan Carter, Gerrid Doaks, Sam Eguavoen, Liam Eichenberg, Blake Ferguson, Mike Gesicki, Jevon Holland, Mack Hollins, Patrick Laird, Hunter Long, Greg Mancz, Kirk Merritt, Nik Needham, Jaelan Phillips, Jason Sanders, Zach Sieler, Durham Smythe and Albert Wilson, as well as Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and staff, the team distributed 1,000 meal boxes from Feeding South Florida to community members. In coordination with Feeding South Florida, Break the Cycle, Miami Gardens churches and dignitaries, and event provided meal boxes capable of feeding a household of 4-6 people consisting of a turkey, fresh produce, and sides.
  • Tuesday Nov. 23: Miami Dolphins DE Emmanuel Ogbah hosted a drive-through Thanksgiving distribution providing 300 meals to the Northwest unit of the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 23: The Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program teamed up with Miami-Dade County District 8 Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins to distribute 300 Thanksgiving turkeys and 300 desserts to South Dade families in need. The Food Relief Program purchased desserts from locally owned small businesses Lola the Baker, Redland Ice Cream & Bakery and The Fudge Pie Co.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed safety Will Parks off San Francisco’s practice squad. The team also placed cornerback Jamal Perry and linebacker Brennan Scarlett on injured reserve.

Parks has played in 72 NFL games with 18 starts over five seasons with Denver (2016-20) and Philadelphia (2020). He’s totaled 163 career tackles (117 solo), two sacks, four interceptions, 13 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (219th overall) by Denver in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Perry has played in 31 games with seven starts for the Dolphins over the past three seasons (2019-21). He’s totaled 72 tackles (47 solo), one interception and two passes defensed. Perry played in four games for the Dolphins in 2021, making two special teams tackles. He joined the team on Feb. 15, 2019. Perry originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Philadelphia on May 11, 2017.

Scarlett joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 22, 2021. He’s played in 11 games with four starts for the Dolphins this season, totaling 15 tackles (five solo) and one pass defensed. Scarlett played the first five seasons of his NFL career (2016-20) for Houston. He’s played in a total of 67 career games with 26 starts, making 135 tackles (80 solo), 5.5 sacks, one interception, six passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Scarlett originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Houston on May 6, 2016.

Miami Dolphins make roster move

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have elevated running back Duke Johnson to the active roster for Sunday’s game.

Johnson has appeared in 91 NFL games with 17 starts for Cleveland (2015-18) and Houston (2019-20). He’s totaled 459 career carries for 1,931 yards (4.2 avg.) and eight touchdowns and caught 307 passes for 2,829 yards (9.2 avg.) and 12 touchdowns. Johnson also played in two playoff games with one start for Houston in 2019. He originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (77th overall) by Cleveland in the 2015 NFL Draft. A Miami native, Johnson played at Norland High School and the University of Miami.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed cornerback Jamal Perry to the active roster. The team also signed linebacker Kobe Jones and quarterback Jake Luton to the practice squad.

Perry has played in 30 games with seven starts for the Dolphins over the past three seasons (2019-21). He’s totaled 72 tackles (47 solo), one interception and two passes defensed.
