Miami Dolphins Announce Innovative Partnership with Uber to Reinvent Parking and Tailgate Experience
Exclusive Unveil of UberTailgate and Uber Zone at Dolphins Games at Hard Rock Stadium
Miami – With an eye toward the future of transportation in and out of games, the Miami Dolphins today announced an innovative partnership with Uber, leveraging the convenience and reliability of ridesharing to enhance transportation options and the fan experience at Hard Rock Stadium. Through the agreement, the Dolphins are the first sports team to host an UberTailgate, providing fans with the opportunity to tailgate and use Uber to enter the game with an end-to-end tailgating experience at their disposal. Uber also becomes the preferred ride sharing partner of the Dolphins, with Hard Rock Stadium hosting a designated Uber Zone, providing one convenient location for drop off and pick up for fans to easily get in and out of games while significantly alleviating traffic.
“Uber is excited to partner with the Miami Dolphins, using our technology to enhance the fan experience at one of the world’s best sports venues,” Uber Regional General Manager U.S. & Canada Rachel Holt said. “This innovative partnership leverages the convenience and reliability of ridesharing to give fans safe and easily accessible transportation options before and after every game. ”
“We recognize that getting in and out of the stadium and traffic is one of the challenges we have with fans as we continue to compete with 60-inch high definition televisions,” Miami Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel said. “We are excited to partner with Uber in this innovative way and want to change our fans’ experiences of getting to and from these events while reimagining the tailgate experience.”
As part of the agreement, Hard Rock Stadium starting on Sept. 25 will host an UberTailgate for all Miami Dolphins home games. The tailgate brings convenience for fans to come to a game with a complete tailgate set up at their disposal. Twenty UberTailgate spots are available for each game, offering a private area equipped with a tent, grill, cooler, serving ware, furniture and a grill. Within the private UberTailgate area, there will be a general store where fans can purchase grilling provisions such as meat to grill, beer, snacks, soda, water and condiments. Included in the UberTailgate experience is round-trip transportation to and from the game via UberX.
Additionally, Hard Rock Stadium starting Sept. 1 will host an Uber Zone, a designated lot where fans can be dropped off starting four hours prior to kickoff. Following a game, fans can enter the Uber Zone, order an Uber and meet their driver at a specified spot for access and convenience.
