Miami Dolphins sign Tindall

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed their third-round pick, linebacker Channing Tindall.

Tindall was selected in the third round (102nd overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman (2018-21). Tindall played in 50 collegiate games, totaling 108 tackles (54 solo), 12.0 sacks and one forced fumble. As a senior in 2021, he earned second-team All-SEC honors with 67 tackles for the national champion Bulldogs.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker Melvin Ingram III as an unrestricted free agent from Kansas City and waived quarterback Chris Streveler.

Ingram is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2017-19) who spent the first nine seasons (2012-20) of his career with the Chargers organization before playing the 2021 season in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. He’s played in 128 career games with 103 starts, totaling 373 tackles (266 solo), 51.0 sacks, three interceptions, 29 passes defensed, 14 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. Ingram has also started seven playoff games. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (18th overall) out of South Carolina by the Chargers in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Streveler signed with the Dolphins on Feb. 22, 2022. He’s played in seven career games over two seasons (2020-21) with Arizona, completing 17-of-25 passes (68.0 pct.) for 141 yards and one touchdown. He also spent part of the 2021 season on Baltimore’s practice squad. Streveler played two seasons (2018-19) for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League and was part of the Blue Bombers’ 2019 Grey Cup championship team.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived/failed physical offensive lineman Ty Clary and signed offensive lineman Cole Banwart.

Banwart spent parts of last season on the practice squads of Minnesota and the N.Y. Giants but did not appear in a regular-season game. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee on May 13, 2021. Banwart played collegiately at Iowa, where he earned third-team All-America and second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2020.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed 14 undrafted college free agents: offensive lineman Blaise Andries, defensive lineman Owen Carney, offensive lineman Ty Clary, tight end Tanner Conner, offensive lineman Kellen Diesch, cornerback Elijah Hamilton, punter Tommy Heatherly, linebacker Deandre Johnson, cornerback Kader Kohou, safety Verone McKinley, wide receiver Braylon Sanders, defensive lineman Ben Stille, running back ZaQuandre White and defensive lineman Jordan Williams.

Andries was a four-year starter (2018-21) at Minnesota, where he started all 46 career games. He started 21 contests at right guard, 11 at left guard, nine at right tackle and five at left tackle. As a senior in 2021, he earned first-team All-Big Ten honors while starting nine games at right guard, three at left tackle and one at right tackle.

Carney was a five-year letterman (2017-21) and three-year starter at Illinois, where he appeared in 55 games with 28 starts and recorded career totals of 115 tackles (52 solo), 16.0 sacks, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a graduate in 2021 and second-team All-Big Ten recognition as a senior in 2020. A Miami native, Carney helped Miami Central High School win a state title in 2015.

Clary was a five-year letterman (2017-21) and four-year starter at Arkansas, where he played in 52 career games with 39 starts. He made 23 starts at center, 11 at right guard, three at right tackle and two at left guard. As a junior in 2019, he started all 12 games at center.

Conner was a five-year letterman (2017-21) at Idaho State, where he played wide receiver. He played in 47 career games, totaling 136 receptions for 2,384 yards (17.5 avg.) and 15 touchdowns. He also earned all-conference honors in track and field at Idaho State.

Diesch was a two-year starter (2020-21) at Arizona State after spending four seasons (2016-19) at Texas A&M. He started all 17 games at left tackle during his two seasons with the Sun Devils. At Texas A&M, Diesch appeared in 21 games and redshirted in 2016.

Hamilton played in 12 games at cornerback for Louisiana Tech as a graduate in 2021, where he recorded 23 tackles (13 solo) and one pass defensed. He spent the previous four seasons (2017-20) at Vanderbilt, where he appeared in 39 contests.

Heatherly was a three-year letterman (2019-21) at Florida International after transferring from Northeast Oklahoma A&M following his sophomore season in 2018. He earned first-team All-Conference USA honors as a graduate in 2021, punting 73 times for 3,460 yards (47.4 avg.).

Johnson played in all 12 games with 10 starts as a graduate for the University of Miami in 2021, totaling 26 tackles (14 solo), 4.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He spent the previous four seasons (2017-20) at Tennessee, where he appeared in 41 contests. Johnson is a Miami native and won a state championship at Miami Southridge High School in 2016.

Kohou was a four-year letterman (2017-19, 2021) at Texas A&M-Commerce, where he played in 44 games. He totaled 113 career tackles (87 solo), five interceptions, 37 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Back of the Year as a senior in 2021.

McKinley was a three-year starter (2019-21) at Oregon and earned first-team All-American and first-team All-Pac 12 honors as a junior in 2021. He started all 14 games that seasons, recording 77 tackles (44 solo), six interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one forced fumble. In McKinley’s collegiate career, he recorded 11 interceptions in 38 games.

Sanders was a five-year letterman (2017-21) for Mississippi, where he played in 46 games with 18 starts. As a graduate in 2021, he played in 12 games with 10 starts, totaling 24 receptions for 549 yards (22.9 avg.) and four touchdowns. His 22.9 receiving average led the SEC and was third nationally.

Stille was a five-year letterman (2017-21) and three-year starter at Nebraska, where he played in 53 games with 34 starts. He totaled 148 career tackles (69 solo), 14.5 sacks, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble. Stille was recognized as honorable mention All-Big Ten as a senior in 2020 and a graduate in 2021.

White was a two-year letterman (2020-21) at South Carolina. He also spent one year (2019) at Iowa Western Community College and two seasons (2017-18) at Florida State. As a senior in 2021, White played in 12 games with six starts, totaling 88 carries for 583 yards (6.6 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also caught 19 passes for 202 yards (10.6 avg.) and three touchdowns.

Williams played in 12 games with seven starts as a senior for Virginia Tech in 2021, totaling 33 tackles (10 solo), 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He spent the previous four seasons (2017-20) at Clemson, where he appeared in 38 games. He played in 12 contests and recorded 11 tackles (six solo), 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in Clemson’s 2018 national championship season.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed two of their 2022 draft picks: outside linebacker Cameron Goode and quarterback Skylar Thompson.

Goode was drafted by Miami in the seventh round (224th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. He lettered five times (2017-21) and was a three-year starter at California, where he earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors as a graduate student in 2021. In his collegiate career, Goode totaled 170 tackles (97 solo), 21.0 sacks, two interceptions, 12 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Thompson was selected in the seventh round (247th overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was a five-year letterman (2017-21) and four-year starter at Kansas State, where he became the only player in school history with more than 6,000 career passing and 1,000 career rushing yards. He started 40 career games, totaling 7,134 passing yards and 42 passing touchdowns while adding 1,087 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced their 2022 schedule presented by Publix, which features several prominent teams visiting Hard Rock Stadium.

Four of Miami’s eight home games will come against playoff teams from 2021 and two of them will be played in front an exclusive nationally televised audience. In Week 7, the Dolphins will make their first appearance on Sunday Night Football since 2017 when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 8:20 p.m. on NBC. Then in Week 16, the Dolphins will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 1 p.m. on FOX in an exclusive Christmas Day tripleheader. It will mark just the fourth time the Dolphins have played on Christmas and the first since 2006.

The Dolphins’ first two home games are against divisional foes who made the postseason a year ago. Miami kicks off the regular season in Week 1 by hosting the New England Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. Then in Week 3, the Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.

The Dolphins will also have a road prime time game in Week 4 when they play on Thursday Night Football at the Cincinnati Bengals. The game is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:15 p.m. and will be shown on Amazon Prime Video.

The Dolphins will play nine scheduled road games this year for the first time in team history after the schedule expanded to 17 games in 2021. They will play eight regular-season home games and two preseason home games.

The Dolphins also announced their opponents for the 2022 preseason schedule. Miami will travel to Tampa Bay for the first preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 13 and host the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, Aug. 20 and the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, Aug. 27.

All games can be heard on AM 560 Sports WQAM, the official flagship radio partner of the franchise, and simulcast on KISS Country 99.9 FM. Fans can also listen to the Dolphins in Spanish on Univision Miami’s WQBA 1140 AM. Preseason games can be seen locally in the Miami-Ft. This season, “flexible scheduling” for Sunday night may be used twice between Weeks 5-10, and during Weeks 11-15 and Week 17. In weeks of the season eligible for “flexible scheduling,” the games listed for the Sunday night window are tentative and subject to change. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to a Sunday afternoon.

Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

In Week 15, three of five designated matchups will be played on Saturday with the remainder to be played on Sunday. Specific dates and start times for the designated Week 15 matchups will be determined and announced at a later date during the season.

In Week 18, two games will be played on Saturday (4:30 PM ET and 8:15 PM ET) with the remainder to be played on Sunday afternoon (1:00 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET) and one matchup to be played on Sunday night (8:20 PM ET). Specific dates, start times, and networks for Week 18 matchups will be determined and announced following the conclusion of Week 17.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed running back Sony Michel.

Michel has played in 55 NFL games with 35 starts over four seasons – three with New England (2018-20) and one with the L.A. Rams (2021). He’s totaled 743 career carries for 3,137 yards (4.2 avg.) and 47 receptions for 386 yards (8.2 avg.) and two touchdowns. In 2021, Michel rushed for 845 yards and helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (31st overall) out of Georgia by New England in the 2018 NFL Draft. A Plantation, Florida native, Michel played high school football at American Heritage.
