Miami Dolphins trade for Boehm

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have traded an undisclosed conditional 2020 draft pick to Indianapolis for center/guard Evan Boehm and an undisclosed 2020 draft pick.

Boehm has played in 42 career games with 13 starts after spending one season with Indianapolis (2018) and two with Arizona (2016-17). He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (128th overall) by Arizona in the 2016 NFL draft. Boehm played collegiately at Missouri, where he started a school-record 52 consecutive games.

Miami Dolphins trade for Isidora

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have traded a 2020 seventh-round draft pick to Minnesota for guard Danny Isidora.

Isidora was a fifth-round pick (180th overall) by Minnesota in the 2017 NFL draft. He has played in 21 games with three starts for the Vikings. A Weston native, Isidora was a three-year starter at the University of Miami, where he earned second-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2016. He attended Cypress Bay High School.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have released/injury settlement tackle Jordan Mills and tight end Clive Walford.

Mills was signed by the Dolphins on May 9, 2019 after four seasons in Buffalo (2015-18), where he started 53 consecutive games. During his career, Mills has played in 87 career games with 82 starts while also spending time with Chicago (2013-14). He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (163rd overall) by Chicago in the 2013 NFL draft.

Walford was signed by the Dolphins on March 14, 2019. He’s played in 45 career games with 11 starts over four NFL seasons – three with Oakland (2015-17) and one with the N.Y. Jets (2018). Walford has 70 career receptions for 768 yards (11.0 avg.) and six touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (68th overall) by Oakland in the 2015 NFL draft. A native of Belle Glade, Florida, Walford played at the University of Miami and attended Glades Central High School.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived/injured linebacker Chase Allen and released defensive tackle Akeem Spence.

Allen joined the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent in 2017 and has played in 21 career games with five starts, totaling 36 tackles (24 solo). He also has seven special teams stops and one special teams forced fumble. He played collegiately at Southern Illinois, where he was a four-year letterman (2013-16) and three-year starter.

Spence joined the Dolphins in a trade from Detroit on May 3, 2018 and started all 16 games for the Dolphins in 2018. During his NFL career, Spence has played in 88 contests with 57 starts, totaling 177 tackles (106 solo), 10.5 sacks, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. He spent one season in Detroit (2017) and four in Tampa Bay (2013-16). Spence originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (100th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2013 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins waive Holden

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived offensive lineman Will Holden.

Holden was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins on July 21, 2019. He spent the past two seasons (2017-18) with Arizona, playing in 11 games with seven starts. Holden also spent time on the New Orleans and Indianapolis practice squads in 2018. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (157th overall) by Arizona in the 2017 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins release McDonald

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have released safety T.J. McDonald.

McDonald joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent in 2017. In two seasons with the team, he started 22 games and totaled 129 tackles (93 solo), four interceptions, eight passes defensed and one fumble recovery. McDonald has played six NFL seasons, spending his first four years (2013-16) with the Rams. He originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (71st overall) by the Rams in the 2013 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins Announce Partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools Through Values Matter Miami

MIAMI GARDENS – As part of the Miami Dolphins’ educational pillar and its FOOTBALL UNITES™ program, the Miami Dolphins announced a partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) through Values Matter Miami, a series of initiatives designed to promote education and values among its students. The announcement took place on Friday, Aug. 23 at Miami Carol City Senior High School with M-DCPS Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho, School Board Member Dr. Steve Gallon III, Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President of Communications & Community Affairs Jason Jenkins and Miami Dolphins Alumnus Troy Drayton.

Values Matter Miami is M-DCPS’ exciting values education program. Over the past four years, it has engaged students in actively learning about nine core values, – Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Fairness, Integrity, Citizenship, Cooperation, Responsibility and Pursuit of Excellence – inside and outside of the classroom.

“This partnership is a testament to the commitment of the Miami Dolphins beyond the football field,” Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho said. “Values Matter Miami, which promotes and recognizes exemplary behavior, is part of our ongoing effort to empower students to make positive decisions based on core values, enabling them to make lasting contributions to our community.”

As part of the partnership, Superintendent Carvalho and the Miami Dolphins created a Values Matter Miami PSA that can be found here. In addition, Miami Dolphins, players, alumni, cheerleaders and staff took part in monthly PSAs, highlighting each value associated with the program. Starting in September, the Dolphins will recognize a student each month that best exemplifies each value in a special ceremony. The Audible: Football Fridays will feature Values Matter Miami when Miami Carol City Senior High School faces off against Deerfield Beach High School at Traz-Powell Stadium, Saturday, August 24. In addition, the Dolphins will partner with M-DCPS on the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative through a special contest with a student designing a special “Values Matter Miami” cleat that will be worn by a Dolphins player against the Philadelphia Eagles on December 1 at Hard Rock Stadium. Lastly, the Dolphins will help sponsor the Values Matter Miami Awards Ceremony in May.

“The Miami Dolphins are proud to strengthen our relationship with M-DCPS by supporting the Values Matter Miami Program to directly impact the students of Miami-Dade County,” Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President of Communications & Community Affairs Jason Jenkins said. “Positive values are paramount to a great educational environment and we wanted to highlight this great program that promotes the great work done every day by students, teachers and administrators.”

These initiatives align with the organization’s goal to level the playing field through the power of teamwork to inspire a healthier, more educated and united South Florida community. Dolphins Chairman of the Board & Managing General Partner Stephen Ross and Dolphins players created the FOOTBALL UNITES™ program as a way to bring positive social change. The Miami Dolphins organization believes it is important to be inclusive of the diversity and aware of the intersections that make up South Florida, uniting groups of different races, genders, sexual orientations, identities, abilities and faiths around the power of football. These programs connect to the NFL’s Inspire Change platform, showcasing the collaborative efforts of players, owners and the league to create positive change in communities across the country and work with RISE – the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality – to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations.
