Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed tackle Avery Young to a free agent contract and waived/non-football injury cornerback Daniel Davie.

Young originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the New Orleans Saints on May 6, 2016 and spent the 2016 season on the reserve/non-football injury list. He played in 37 games with 36 starts at Auburn, where he played left guard, right guard and right tackle, earning third-team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2015. Young grew up in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and played high school football at Palm Beach Gardens High School.

Davie was signed by the Dolphins to a reserve/futures contract on Jan. 10, 2017. He began his NFL career as an undrafted college free agent with the Indianapolis Colts on May 2, 2016, but was waived on July 26, 2016. The following day he was awarded off waivers to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he was again waived on Aug. 28, 2016. Davie played collegiately at Nebraska where he was a four-year letterman (2012-15). He started all 13 games as a junior in 2014 and recorded 41 tackles (25 solo), two interceptions and five pass breakups.
