Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed quarterback Jay Cutler and waived defensive end Arthur Miley.

Cutler comes to Miami in his 12th NFL season, spending the past eight years with the Chicago Bears. In his career, he has started 139 games and completed 2,782-of-4,491 (61.9 pct.) passes for 32,467 yards, 208 touchdowns and an 85.7 rating. His touchdown total is ninth and his total passing yards are 10th among active NFL quarterbacks. Cutler earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2008 after he started all 16 games and threw for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Denver Broncos. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (11th overall) by Denver in the 2006 NFL draft.

Miley signed with the Dolphins on Jan. 10, 2017. He was previously with Carolina before being waived on Sept. 3, 2016 and originally joined the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Carolina on May 4, 2015. Miley was a four-year letterman and three-year starter at Southern University where he played in 47 career games with 36 starts.
