Miami Dolphins promote O’Leary
MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have promoted tight end Nick O’Leary to the active roster and placed quarterback Luke Falk on injured reserve.
O’Leary joined the Dolphins practice squad on Sept. 19, 2018. He played three seasons with Buffalo (2015-17) and appeared in 35 games with 12 starts. O’Leary has 32 career receptions for 473 yards (14.8 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes in Buffalo’s AFC Wild Card game on Jan. 7, 2018 at Jacksonville. O’Leary originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (194th overall) by Buffalo in the 2015 NFL draft. A native of Palm Beach, Florida, he was a four-year letterman (2011-14) and three-year starter at Florida State.
Falk was awarded to the Dolphins off waivers from Tennessee on Sept. 2, 2018. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (199th overall) by Tennessee in the 2018 NFL draft. Falk was a four-year letterman (2014-17) and three-year starter for Washington State, where he played in 43 career games with 40 starts. He finished his career as Washington State and the Pac-12 Conference’s all-time leading passer (14,481 yards). He also set career school and conference records for total offense (14,086), passing touchdowns (119), completions (1,403), pass attempts (2,055) and total plays (2,306).
