Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed wide receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. and released wide receiver Cody Core with a non-football injury.

Sanu Sr. (pronounced suh-NOO) enters his 11th NFL season after spending the 2021 season with San Francisco. He has played for Cincinnati (2012-15), Atlanta (2016-19), New England (2019), Detroit (2020) in addition to two stints with the 49ers (2020-21). Sanu has played in 136 career games with 96 starts, totaling 435 career receptions for 4,871 yards (11.2 avg.) and 27 touchdowns. He’s also appeared in nine playoff games and helped Atlanta win the NFC Championship in 2016. Sanu was originally a third-round pick (83rd overall) by Cincinnati in the 2012 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at Rutgers.

Core signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad on Nov. 29, 2021 and spent five games there. He was originally a sixth-round pick (199th overall) by Cincinnati in the 2016 NFL Draft and played three seasons (2016-18) with the Bengals before he was claimed off waivers by the N.Y. Giants in 2019. Core has played in 51 career games with seven starts, totaling 33 receptions for 388 yards (11.8 avg.) and one touchdown. He played collegiately at Mississippi.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed defensive back Elijah Campbell on the active/non-football injury list and cornerback Byron Jones on the active/physically unable to perform list.

Campbell was awarded to Miami off waivers on Sept. 1, 2021 from the N.Y. Jets. He played in seven games with the Dolphins last year, totaling two special teams stops. He played in three games for the Jets in 2020. Campbell originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland on May 4, 2018. He’s also made stops with the DC Defenders of the XFL and the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football. Campbell played collegiately at Northern Iowa.

Jones was signed by Miami as an unrestricted free agent from Dallas on March 21, 2020 and has started 30 games for the Dolphins over the past two seasons (2020-21). In his career, Jones has played in 109 games with 103 starts and totaled 421 tackles (326 solo), four interceptions, 57 passes defensed and five forced fumbles. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018 and Miami’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee in 2020. Jones originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (27th overall) by Dallas in the 2015 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Connecticut.

Miami Dolphins announce schedule for 2022 Training Camp Presented by Baptist Health

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced today their 2022 training camp schedule presented by Baptist Health with practices held at the Baptist Health Training Complex in Miami Gardens. The team will hold its first public practice on Saturday, July 30 at 10:25 a.m. and will host the Philadelphia Eagles for joint practices on Wednesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 25. Additional and up-to-date information about Miami Dolphins training camp can be found at miamidolphins.com/trainingcamp.

This year’s training camp will feature theme days, food trucks from local and minority-owned restaurants, fan festivities, and the garage sale benefitting the Miami Dolphins Foundation.  Fans in attendance at the Baptist Health Training Complex will experience practices under a shaded canopy over the seating area.

The Dolphins will host practices at the Baptist Health Training Complex, the team’s state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2021 in Miami Gardens. Baptist Health serves as the Official Medical Team and Official Wellness and Sports Medicine Provider of the Miami Dolphins and the Training Complex and is also a proud partner of the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

Attendance for any of the open practices is free, but fans must reserve tickets through the Miami Dolphins Account Manager by Ticketmaster. Fans can secure tickets for the 2022 Miami Dolphins Training Camp at https://am.ticketmaster.com/dolphins/MDTrainingCamp2022.

Miami Dolphins sign Ezukanma

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed wide receiver Erik Ezukanma. The team has now signed all four of its 2022 NFL Draft selections.

Ezukanma was Miami’s fourth-round pick (125th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was a three-year starter (2019-21) at Texas Tech, where he became the first Red Raider since 1985-87 (Wayne Walker) to lead the team in receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. He totaled 138 career receptions for 2,165 yards (15.7 avg.) and 15 touchdowns, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior in 2021 and first-team All-Big 12 recognition as a sophomore in 2020.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker Porter Gustin and waived cornerback Javaris Davis and released defensive end Daeshon Hall.

Gustin played three seasons (2019-21) in Cleveland, where he appeared in 26 games with four starts. He’s totaled 47 career tackles (23 solo), 1.0 sack and two fumble recoveries. Gustin also appeared in two playoff games, recording one tackle, one interception and one pass defensed. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2019 after playing collegiately at USC.

Davis played one game for the Dolphins in 2021 and recorded two solo tackles and one pass defensed. He joined the Dolphins on Aug. 6, 2020 after he was awarded off waivers from Kansas City and spent the past two seasons on Miami’s practice squad. Davis originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Kansas City on April 30, 2020. He played collegiately at Auburn.

Hall joined the Dolphins on Feb. 18, 2022. He’s played in 13 NFL games for two teams – Carolina (2017) and Philadelphia (2018-19). During his career, Hall has totaled six tackles (four solo) and 1.5 sacks. He also played in two playoff games for Philadelphia in 2018. Hall spent the 2020 season on San Francisco’s practice squad and the 2021 offseason with the 49ers. He originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (77th overall) by Carolina in the 2017 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at Texas A&M.

Miami Dolphins sign Tindall

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed their third-round pick, linebacker Channing Tindall.

Tindall was selected in the third round (102nd overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman (2018-21). Tindall played in 50 collegiate games, totaling 108 tackles (54 solo), 12.0 sacks and one forced fumble. As a senior in 2021, he earned second-team All-SEC honors with 67 tackles for the national champion Bulldogs.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed linebacker Melvin Ingram III as an unrestricted free agent from Kansas City and waived quarterback Chris Streveler.

Ingram is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2017-19) who spent the first nine seasons (2012-20) of his career with the Chargers organization before playing the 2021 season in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. He’s played in 128 career games with 103 starts, totaling 373 tackles (266 solo), 51.0 sacks, three interceptions, 29 passes defensed, 14 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. Ingram has also started seven playoff games. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (18th overall) out of South Carolina by the Chargers in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Streveler signed with the Dolphins on Feb. 22, 2022. He’s played in seven career games over two seasons (2020-21) with Arizona, completing 17-of-25 passes (68.0 pct.) for 141 yards and one touchdown. He also spent part of the 2021 season on Baltimore’s practice squad. Streveler played two seasons (2018-19) for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League and was part of the Blue Bombers’ 2019 Grey Cup championship team.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived/failed physical offensive lineman Ty Clary and signed offensive lineman Cole Banwart.

Banwart spent parts of last season on the practice squads of Minnesota and the N.Y. Giants but did not appear in a regular-season game. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee on May 13, 2021. Banwart played collegiately at Iowa, where he earned third-team All-America and second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2020.
