Miami Dolphins sign Sieler to contract extension
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed defensive tackle Zach Sieler to a contract extension through the 2023 season.
Sieler has played in all nine games with three starts for the Dolphins this season. He’s totaled 26 tackles (13 solo) and 1.5 sacks. Sieler joined the Dolphins on Dec. 5, 2019 when he was awarded off waivers to the team. He also spent two seasons (2018-19) in Baltimore and originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (238th overall) by Baltimore in the 2018 NFL draft.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated linebacker Kyle Van Noy off the reserve/COVID-19* list and elevated wide receiver Antonio Callaway to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
Van Noy has played in seven games with six starts for the Dolphins this season, totaling 33 tackles (24 solo), two sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent from New England on March 21, 2020. Van Noy originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (40th overall) by Detroit in the 2014 NFL draft.
Callaway joined Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 6, 2020. He has played in 20 NFL games with 13 starts, all with Cleveland from 2018-19. He has 51 career receptions for 675 yards (13.2 avg.) and five touchdowns. Callaway originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (105th overall) by Cleveland in the 2018 NFL draft. A Miami native, Callaway attended Booker T. Washington Senior High School.
*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have elevated defensive tackle Benito Jones and tight end Chris Myarick as COVID-19 replacements for Sunday’s game.
Jones has played in two games for the Dolphins in 2020 and spent the rest of the season on Miami’s practice squad. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on April 29, 2020. Jones was a four-year letterman (2016-19) and three-year starter at Mississippi. He earned second-team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2019.
Myarick has spent all of the past two seasons on Miami’s practice squad after entering the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on May 9, 2019. He was a four-year letterman (2015-18) and two-year starter at Temple, where he appeared in 43 games with 25 starts. As a senior in 2018, Myarick made 12 starts and caught 14 passes for 146 yards (10.4 avg.) and one touchdown.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. off the reserve/COVID-19* list and placed wide receiver Matt Cole, linebacker Kyle Van Noy and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins on the list.
Bowden has played in four games with one start for the Dolphins this season, totaling four carries for nine yards (2.3 avg.) and one reception for -1 yard. He was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade with Las Vegas on Sept. 5, 2020. Bowden originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (80th overall) by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL draft.
Cole has spent the entire season on the practice squad. He joined the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent on April 29, 2020. He was a four-year letterman (2016-19) and three-year starter at McKendree, where he set a school record with 1,618 career receiving yards.
Van Noy has played in seven games with six starts for the Dolphins this season, totaling 33 tackles (24 solo), two sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent from New England on March 21, 2020. Van Noy originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (40th overall) by Detroit in the 2014 NFL draft.
Wilkins has played in 24 career games with 20 starts, totaling 84 tackles (46 solo), three sacks, one interception, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He also has one career reception for one yard and a touchdown. Wilkins originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (13th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2019 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins place Williams on injured reserve
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed wide receiver Preston Williams on injured reserve.
Williams played in eight games with seven starts for the Dolphins this season. He totaled 18 receptions for 288 yards (16.0 avg.) and had a team-high four touchdown receptions. Williams originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on May 9, 2019. He’s played in 16 career games with 14 starts and totaled 50 receptions for 716 yards (14.3 avg.) and seven touchdowns.

The Miami Dolphins commit $75M to cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center
“Dolphins Challenge Cancer” will be the new name for its year-round mission
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins are making a transformational gift to improving the lives of those impacted by cancer in South Florida with a $75 million commitment to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System and South Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer center. What began as the Dolphins Cycling Challenge in 2010 will now enter its 11th year with a bold, new resolution: a 100 percent year-round promise to support life-saving cancer research. While the mission remains the same, the organization is taking a ‘one team, one fight’ mentality that will now be known as Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC).
“It is an honor to serve my second year as Chair of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, particularly during this momentous occasion,” said Dr. Jacqueline A. Travisano, EVP and COO of the University of Miami. “This announcement is a true testament to the power of our South Florida community coming together to fund cancer research. The fight against cancer is deeply personal to many, including me. It is only through dedicated teamwork, such as the extraordinary partnership between Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Miami Dolphins, that we can succeed in ending cancer.”
The shift to ‘challenge cancer’ takes the organization beyond a single event to align closer to Sylvester’s mission. As the Dolphins Challenge Cancer, the organization will now become a collective movement providing hope to families and friends, coworkers, and neighbors who have been affected by cancer. The DCC is passionately invested in more than 300 doctors and researchers that work to find the cure for your cancer. Beyond looking for just a cure, the research that Sylvester generates also addresses disparities in care for minority communities supports medically-underserved populations; identifies ways to reduce risks for firefighters and other first responders; and promotes preventative care habits, among its many initiatives.
“At a time when our country is facing economic and medical hardships, the health and well-being of the South Florida community, including those affected by cancer, remains a top area of focus for our community efforts,” said Miami Dolphins Vice Chairman and CEO Tom Garfinkel. “We continue to be inspired by the high-level research and patient care at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and are proud to expand our support.”
To date, the DCC’s annual event has raised more than $39 million for Sylvester. As a comprehensive annual campaign, the organization will raise funds year-round in addition to its signature cycling event. These funds will be allocated to support more than 300 active clinical trials, survivorship programs; and advance the research of innovative cancer treatments such as immunotherapy.
“Physicians and scientists at Sylvester are more committed than ever to developing new, more effective, and less toxic ways to treat cancer and to prevent it. We just launched an Experimental Therapeutics program which will accelerate our efforts to bring promising discoveries from our laboratories to our patients. This incredible partnership with the Miami Dolphins has supported vitally important research at Sylvester for a decade. We are extremely grateful for this renewed commitment to continue working side by side in pursuit of new cancer cures,” said Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., Director of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
As part of the DCC’s contribution to Sylvester, the University of Miami will be naming the Sylvester Courtyard in the organization’s honor. The courtyard will be a tribute to the DCC’s supporters past and present and serve as inspiration for future participation. Additionally, the DCC will be recognized at each Sylvester location across South Florida.

The DCC will continue to host its marquee event led by its iconic 100-mile ride this spring. On April 10, 2021, DCC XI participants will be able to choose how they engage. That day, they will have the option to ride, run, or walk on the route of their choosing, or in-person at Hard Rock Stadium.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated tackle Austin Jackson off injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Kirk Merritt as a COVID-19 replacement.
Jackson started the first four games of the 2020 season at left tackle. He was a first-round pick (18th overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL draft. Jackson played collegiately at Southern California, where he earned first-team All-Pac 12 honors as a junior in 2019.
Merritt has spent the 2020 season on Miami’s practice squad. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on April 29, 2020. Merritt was a two-year starter (2018-19) at Arkansas State, where he earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors both years. He led the conference in receptions (83) and receiving yards (1,005) as a junior in 2018.
