Miami Dolphins Make Practice Squad Moves
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed the following players to their practice squad: quarterback Tim Boyle, wide receiver Robbie Chosen, wide receiver Dee Eskridge and defensive tackle Naquan Jones. The team also released running back Anthony McFarland Jr. from the practice squad.
Boyle has appeared in 20 career games with 5 starts with Green Bay (2019-20), Detroit (2021), Chicago (2022), and the N.Y. Jets (2023). He’s completed 114-of-183 passes (62.3 pct.) for 934 yards with four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay in 2018. He finished his collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky, where he started all 11 games in 2017 and completed 201-of-327 passes for 2,134 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He transferred to EKU in 2016 from the University of Connecticut, where he played three seasons (2013-15).
Chosen has played eight NFL seasons with the N.Y. Jets (2016-19), Carolina (2020-22), Arizona (2022) and Miami (2023) totaling 120 games played and 86 starts with 379 receptions for 5,082 yards (13.4 avg.) and 30 touchdowns. Chosen also has 16 career rushing attempts for 98 yards (6.1 avg.). He played in nine games with the Dolphins in 2023, catching four passes for 126 yards (31.5 avg.) and one touchdown. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the N.Y. Jets in 2016. He played collegiately at Temple.
Eskridge has appeared in 24 career games, having spent three seasons with Seattle (2021-23). He has recorded 17 receptions for 122 yards (7.2 avg.) and one touchdown, while contributing 428 yards on 17 kickoff returns (25.2 avg.). He entered the NFL as a second-round selection (56th overall) by Seattle in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan (2016-20), where appeared in 45 games and recorded 122 receptions for 2,260 yards (18.5 avg.) and 15 touchdowns.
Jones has appeared in 36 career games with eight starts, having spent time with Tennessee (2021-23) and Arizona (2023). He also appeared in one postseason game with the Titans in 2021. Jones has recorded 62 tackles (27 solo), 3.5 sacks and two passes defensed. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee in 2021. Jones played collegiately at Michigan State, where he was a four-year letterwinner (2017-20) and recorded 78 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 12.5 tackles for losses, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 46 career games and five starts.
McFarland Jr. signed with Miami on Aug. 19, 2024. He played in 17 games during four seasons with Pittsburgh (2020-23), where he rushed for 146 yards on 42 carries (3.5 avg.) and caught 11 passes for 87 yards (7.9 avg.). He also recorded nine kickoff returns for 237 yards (26.3 avg.) during his time with the Steelers. McFarland Jr. played collegiately at Maryland (2017-19), where he recorded 1,648 yards on 245 carries (6.7 avg.) with 12 touchdowns and added 24 receptions for 199 yards (8.3 avg.) and one touchdown. He entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (124th overall) with Pittsburgh in 2020.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have been awarded wide receiver Grant DuBose off waivers from Green Bay and released offensive lineman Jack Driscoll.
DuBose spent the 2024 offseason program and training camp with Green Bay after spending the 2023 season on their practice squad. He entered the league as a seventh-round selection (256th overall) by Green Bay in the 2023 NFL Draft. He finished his collegiate career at Charlotte, where he appeared in 24 games with 20 starts in two seasons (2021-22) after transferring from Miles College. He recorded 126 receptions for 1,684 yards (13.3 avg.) and 15 touchdowns at Charlotte. He ranked second in school history in career receiving yards per game (70.2) and fourth in career receiving yards (1,684).
Driscoll signed with Miami on March 18, 2024. He has played in 54 career games with 17 starts in four seasons (2020-23) with Philadelphia. He has also played in four postseason games and helped the Eagles win the NFC Championship in 2022. Of Driscoll’s 17 career starts, eight have come at right tackle, eight at right guard and one at left tackle. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (145th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2020 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Auburn.

Practice Squad Transactions:
The Miami Dolphins also signed the following players to their practice squad today: safety Jordan Colbert, wide receiver Erik Ezukanma, defensive tackle Jonathan Harris, offensive lineman Chasen Hines, linebacker Dequan Jackson, cornerback Isaiah Johnson, tackle Bayron Matos, running back Anthony McFarland Jr., cornerback Nik Needham and tight end Hayden Rucci.
Colbert entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He spent his final two collegiate seasons at Rhode Island (2022-23), where he appeared in 21 games with 11 starts and recorded 96 tackles (66 solo), 0.5 sack, two interceptions, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for a TD. Colbert began his collegiate career at Columbia (2018-21) and earned third-team All-Ivy League honors in 2021.
Ezukanma played in three career games, totaling one reception for three yards and five carries for 22 yards (4.4 avg.) in two seasons with Miami (2022-23). He was a fourth-round pick (125th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2022 NFL Draft and played collegiately at Texas Tech, where he earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2020.
Harris signed with Miami on March 15, 2024. He has played in 33 NFL games with nine starts in his career, spending most of his time with Denver (2019-23). He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Chicago on May 2, 2019 and played in two games for the Bears that season. Harris has recorded 81 career tackles (50 solo) and 1.0 sack. He played in all 17 games with five starts for Denver in 2023, totaling 43 tackles (26 solo) and 1.0 sack. Harris played collegiately at Lindenwood.
Hines spent the 2023 season on the Dolphins’ practice squad after originally signing with the team on Aug. 31, 2023. He was elevated once but did not appear in a game. Hines was a sixth-round pick (210th overall) by New England in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU, where he appeared in 35 games with 17 starts. Hines was a member of LSU’s 2019 national championship team.
Jackson entered the NFL on May 1, 2023 as an undrafted college free agent with Jacksonville, where he spent the season on the practice squad. He spent the 2024 offseason with the Jaguars. Jackson played collegiately at Colorado State (2018-2022), where he appeared in 46 games and recorded 307 tackles (121 solo), 2.5 sacks, one pass defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Johnson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played his final two collegiate seasons at Syracuse (2022-23), where he appeared in 25 games with 19 starts and totaled 115 tackles (74 solo), two interceptions, nine passes defensed and one forced fumble. He began his career at Dartmouth (2018-21), where he earned first-team All-Ivy League honors in 2021 after registering 55 tackles (38 solo), one interception returned for a touchdown and seven passes defensed.
Matos signed with the Dolphins as a part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program on May 10, 2024. He played collegiately at South Florida, where he appeared in two games in 2022, mostly seeing the field for special teams and defensive line snaps. Matos was also on the basketball team at South Florida that same year, playing in 28 games with four starts and averaging 1.5 points per game with 2.7 rebounds. Matos transferred from New Mexico, where he spent two seasons (2020-21) on the Lobos basketball team and scored in the double figures three times. He played in 20 games with 15 starts, averaging 6.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game.
McFarland Jr. signed with Miami on Aug. 19, 2024. He played in 17 games during four seasons with Pittsburgh (2020-23), where he rushed for 146 yards on 42 carries (3.5 avg.) and caught 11 passes for 87 yards (7.9 avg.). He also recorded nine kickoff returns for 237 yards (26.3 avg.) during his time with the Steelers. McFarland Jr. played collegiately at Maryland (2017-19), where he recorded 1,648 yards on 245 carries (6.7 avg.) with 12 touchdowns and added 24 receptions for 199 yards (8.3 avg.) and one touchdown. He entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (124th overall) with Pittsburgh in 2020.
Needham has played all five of his NFL seasons (2019-23) with Miami, appearing in 61 games with 27 starts. He’s totaled 199 tackles (144 solo), 3.0 sacks, six interceptions, 25 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in his career. He’s also had one interception return for a touchdown and played in one playoff game. Needham originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 9, 2019. He played collegiately at UTEP.
Rucci entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played collegiately at Wisconsin, where he appeared in 36 games with 18 starts during four seasons (2020-23). He caught 17 passes for 200 yards (11.8 avg.) and one touchdown for the Badgers and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2020, 2021 and 2023.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have waived linebacker David Anenih, wide receiver Je’Quan Burton, safety Jordan Colbert, defensive tackle Robert Cooper, wider receiver Erik Ezukanma, wide receiver Mike Harley Jr., offensive lineman Chasen Hines, running back Zander Horvath, linebacker Dequan Jackson, wide receiver Jadon Janke, cornerback Isaiah Johnson, offensive lineman Matthew Jones, cornerback Jason Maitre, tackle Bayron Matos, wide receiver Kyric McGowan, defensive tackle Leonard Payne, safety Mark Perry and tight end Hayden Rucci.
The team also waived/injured running back Chris Brooks, tackle Ryan Hayes and wide receiver Braylon Sanders, and released linebacker Curtis Bolton, long snapper Blake Ferguson, defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, defensive tackle Jonathan Harris, defensive tackle Isaiah Mack, running back Anthony McFarland Jr. and cornerback Nik Needham.
Additionally, the Dolphins moved wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., linebacker Bradley Chubb, linebacker Cameron Goode and offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn to the reserve/physically unable to perform list, and placed wide receiver River Cracraft, linebacker Wyatt Ray and cornerback Cam Smith on injured reserve. The team listed Cracraft and Smith as designated for return.
Anenih signed with Miami on Aug. 12, 2024. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Tennessee on May 13, 2022. He spent parts of the 2022 season on the practice squads of Tennessee and Pittsburgh before finishing the season with Atlanta. Anenih also spent training camp with Arizona in 2023. He played collegiately at Houston, where he spent five seasons (2017-2021) and recorded 99 tackles (57 solo), 20.0 sacks, seven passes defensed, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Beckham Jr., who signed with Miami on May 7, 2024, is on his 10th NFL season after spending time with the N.Y. Giants (2014-18), Cleveland (2019-21), the L.A. Rams (2021) and Baltimore (2023). He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2014-16), Super Bowl champion (LVI) and was the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Beckham Jr. has played in 110 games with 97 starts, totaling 566 receptions for 7,932 yards (14.0 avg.) and 59 touchdowns. Beckham Jr. also played in seven playoff games with six starts, totaling 29 receptions for 350 yards (12.1 avg.) and two scores. He entered NFL as the 12th overall selection in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the N.Y. Giants and played collegiately at LSU.
Bolton signed with Miami on July 27, 2024. He has played in 28 career games, recording one defensive stop, 15 special teams tackles and one punt return. He spent one season with Detroit (2021) and two with Las Vegas (2022-23). In 2023, he appeared in 13 games with the Raiders, recording one defensive stop, seven special teams tackles and a punt return. He spent time with Houston (2020), Indianapolis (2021) and San Francisco (2021) on their practice squads. Bolton played five games with Detroit in 2021 and 10 with Las Vegas in 2022. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay on May 3, 2019, after playing collegiately at Oklahoma.
Brooks played in nine games for the Dolphins in 2023, totaling 19 carries for 106 yards (5.6 avg.). He signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 12, 2023. Brooks played collegiately at California and finished his career at BYU, where he led the team in rushing (817 yards) as a senior in 2022.
Burton entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played collegiately at Florida Atlantic (2021-23), where he appeared in 34 games and hauled in 84 receptions for 1,277 yards (15.2 avg.) and nine touchdowns. Prior to FAU, Burton spent the 2020 season at Iowa Central Community College after spending two seasons at Southern Illinois (2018-19), where he was a member of the Missouri Valley All-Newcomer Team as a freshman.
Chubb has played in 73 career games with 72 starts during six NFL seasons with Denver (2018-22) and Miami (2022-23). In 2023, he started 16 games for Miami, recording 73 tackles (45 solo), 11.0 sacks, two passes defensed, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His 11.0 sacks led the team last season, while his six forced fumbles led the league. Chubb was acquired by Miami in a trade with Denver on Nov. 1, 2022. He was originally a first-round pick (fifth overall) by Denver in the 2018 NFL Draft following a standout career at North Carolina State.
Colbert entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He spent his final two collegiate seasons at Rhode Island (2022-23), where he appeared in 21 games with 11 starts and recorded 96 tackles (66 solo), 0.5 sack, two interceptions, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for a TD. Colbert began his collegiate career at Columbia (2018-21) and earned third-team All-Ivy League honors in 2021.
Cooper signed with Miami on Aug. 14, 2024. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Seattle in 2023, spending part of the offseason program with the Seahawks. He participated in training camp with Seattle and Philadelphia in 2023. Cooper played collegiately at Florida State, where he spent five seasons (2018-22). He appeared in 57 games with 41 starts with the Seminoles, recording 123 tackles (56 solo), 2.5 sacks and three passes defensed.
Cracraft joined the Dolphins on Feb. 17, 2022, and resigned with the team on March 21, 2024. He has played in 21 games with one start for Miami over the past two seasons (2022-23), totaling 18 receptions for 223 yards (12.4 avg.) and three touchdowns. He’s also played in two postseason games for the Dolphins. Cracraft originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Denver in 2017 and has spent time with the Broncos (2017-19) and 49ers (2020-21). In his career, he’s appeared in 45 contests with two starts. Cracraft played collegiately at Washington State.
Ezukanma played in three career games, totaling one reception for three yards and five carries for 22 yards (4.4 avg.) in two seasons with Miami (2022-23). He was a fourth-round pick (125th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2022 NFL Draft and played collegiately at Texas Tech, where he earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2020.
Ferguson played in 67 career games for the Dolphins, totaling seven special teams tackles (four solo) and one special teams fumble recovery. He also appeared in two postseason contests with Miami. Ferguson is a two-time Salute to Service Award nominee (2021, 2022). He entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (185th overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. Ferguson played collegiately at LSU, where he became the first long snapper in program history to be named a permanent team captain.
Gallimore signed with Miami on March 15, 2024, after spending four seasons with Dallas. He’s played in 52 career games with 14 starts, totaling 90 tackles (40 solo), 4.0 sacks and three passes defensed. He’s also played in three playoff games with one start. Gallimore was a third-round pick (82nd overall) by Dallas in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gallimore played collegiately at Oklahoma (2015-19), where he was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2019.
Goode played in all 17 games for Miami in 2023 after spending the 2022 season on the team’s practice squad. He was a seventh-round selection (224th overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft and played collegiately at California.
Hayes spent most of the 2023 season on Miami’s practice squad and was elevated once but did not appear in a game. He was Miami’s seventh-round pick (238th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. Hayes spent the offseason and training camp with the Dolphins before spending the first two weeks of the regular season on Indianapolis’ active roster. He played collegiately at Michigan, where he was a three-year starter and a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2021 and 2022, helping the Wolverines reach the College Football Playoff both years.
Harley Jr. signed with Miami on Aug. 7, 2024. He originally entered the NFL in 2022 as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland. He spent the 2022 season on Cleveland’s practice squad and participated in two training camps with the Browns (2022, 2023). He played collegiately at the University of Miami, appearing in 60 career games in five seasons (2017-21). Harley Jr. recorded 182 receptions for 2,158 yards and 15 touchdowns during his time in Coral Gables.
Harris signed with Miami on March 15, 2024. He has played in 33 NFL games with nine starts in his career, spending most of his time with Denver (2019-23). He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Chicago on May 2, 2019 and played in two games for the Bears that season. Harris has recorded 81 career tackles (50 solo) and 1.0 sack. He also appeared in one postseason contest with the Chargers. Horvath spent time on practice squads with Pittsburgh and the Chargers in 2023 and spent the offseason program and part of training camp with New Orleans in 2024. He played collegiately at Purdue (2018-2021), where he appeared in 38 games and rushed for 1,181 yards on 268 attempts (4.4 avg.) with eight touchdowns. He also recorded 68 receptions for 592 yards (8.7 avg.) and one touchdown. Horvath entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (260th overall) with the L.A. Chargers in 2022.
Jackson entered the NFL on May 1, 2023 as an undrafted college free agent with Jacksonville, where he spent the season on the practice squad. He spent the 2024 offseason with the Jaguars. Jackson played collegiately at Colorado State (2018-2022), where he appeared in 46 games and recorded 307 tackles (121 solo), 2.5 sacks, one pass defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Janke entered the NFL on May 10, 2024 as an undrafted college free agent with Houston, where he spent part of this year’s training camp. He also contributed on special teams, recording 22 kickoff returns for 446 yards (20.3 avg.) and 16 punt returns for 183 yards (11.4 avg.).
Johnson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played his final two collegiate seasons at Syracuse (2022-23), where he appeared in 25 games with 19 starts and totaled 115 tackles (74 solo), two interceptions, nine passes defensed and one forced fumble. He began his career at Dartmouth (2018-21), where he earned first-team All-Ivy League honors in 2021 after registering 55 tackles (38 solo), one interception returned for a touchdown and seven passes defensed.

Mack signed with Miami on March 5, 2024. He has played in 25 career games with one start in four seasons (2019-2022), totaling 17 career tackles (seven solo), 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. Mack originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee in 2019. He’s appeared in games with Tennessee (2019-20), New England (2020) and Baltimore (2021-22). Maitre entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 14, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He spent his final collegiate season at Wisconsin, where he played in 12 games with nine starts and totaled 33 tackles (24 solo), one interception and four passes defensed. Maitre transferred from Boston College, where he spent five years (2018-22) and tallied 133 tackles (86 solo), 4.0 sacks, three interceptions and 22 passes defensed in 44 games for the Eagles.
Matos signed with the Dolphins as a part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program on May 10, 2024. He played collegiately at South Florida, where he appeared in two games in 2022, mostly seeing the field for special teams and defensive line snaps. Matos was also on the basketball team at South Florida that same year, playing in 28 games with four starts and averaging 1.5 points per game with 2.7 rebounds. Matos transferred from New Mexico, where he spent two seasons (2020-21) on the Lobos basketball team and scored in the double figures three times. He played in 20 games with 15 starts, averaging 6.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game.
McGowan signed with Miami on July 23, 2024. He has appeared in two career games with Washington, where he spent the 2022 season and training camp in 2023. He played at Georgia Tech (2021), where he appeared in 11 games with 10 starts and recorded 37 receptions for 467 yards and seven touchdowns during his final collegiate season. He also spent four seasons at Northwestern (2017-20), appearing in 42 games with 27 starts and totaling 66 receptions for 773 yards and two touchdowns. McGowan originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Commanders in 2022.
Needham has played all five of his NFL seasons (2019-23) with Miami, appearing in 61 games with 27 starts. He’s totaled 199 tackles (144 solo), 3.0 sacks, six interceptions, 25 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in his career. He’s also had one interception return for a touchdown and played in one playoff game. Needham originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 9, 2019.
Payne entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played his final collegiate season at Colorado (2023), where he appeared in 12 games with seven starts and notched 10 tackles (six solo), 3.0 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. Payne transferred from Fresno State (2018-22) where he played in 28 games with nine starts and had 35 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Perry entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played his final two collegiate seasons at TCU (2022-23), where he recorded 142 tackles (103 solo), six passes defensed and one forced fumble. He was named honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2023 after starting 12 games for the Horned Frogs. Perry transferred from Colorado, where he spent three years (2019-21) and accounted for 91 tackles (63 solo), 2.0 sacks, three interceptions, seven passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. He was also a sprinter on Colorado’s Track and Field team.
Ray signed with Miami on Aug. 12, 2024. He is a three-year veteran who has appeared in 23 career games with Tennessee (2020, 2022), Cincinnati (2021) and Denver (2022). He has recorded 18 tackles (8 solo), 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble. He also spent time on practice squads with Houston (2019), N.Y. Jets (2019) and Jacksonville (2022). Ray entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland in 2019 and spent training camp with the Browns that year. He played collegiately at Boston College, where he spent four seasons (2015-18) and recorded 114 tackles (47 solo), 16.5 sacks, one interception, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Rucci entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He played collegiately at Wisconsin, where he appeared in 36 games with 18 starts during four seasons (2020-23). He caught 17 passes for 200 yards (11.8 avg.) and one touchdown for the Badgers and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
Sanders first signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent on May 13, 2022 and spent each of the past two seasons on Miami’s practice squad. He was elevated three times in 2022, appearing in three games and catching two passes for 17 yards (8.5 avg.). Sanders was a five-year letterman (2017-21) for Mississippi, where he played in 46 games with 18 starts.
Smith appeared in 15 games with the Dolphins in 2023, recording two tackles (one solo). He was selected by Miami in the second round (51st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft out of South Carolina, where he was a four-year letterman (2019-22) and two-year starter. He played in 33 games with 19 starts for the Gamecocks and earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2021 and 2022. He led the team with 14 passes defensed in 2021. Smith intercepted six passes and had 24 passes defensed in his final three collegiate seasons (2020-22).
Wynn, who first signed with Miami on May 15, 2023, started seven games at left guard for the Dolphins last year. He helped Miami lead the NFL in total offense (401.3) and passing offense (265.5). Wynn spent the prior five seasons with New England (2018-22) and has played in 50 career games with 47 starts. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (23rd overall) by New England in the 2018 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Georgia.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed running backs Zander Horvath and Anthony McFarland Jr. along with linebacker Dequan Jackson and wide receiver Jadon Janke. Additionally, the team placed offensive lineman Sean Harlow and wide receiver Willie Snead IV on the reserve/injured list, released running back Salvon Ahmed and waived/injured linebacker Ezekiel Vandenburgh.
Horvath has appeared in 15 games with two starts, having spent the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Chargers and recording four carries for eight yards (2.0 avg.). He also appeared in one postseason contest with the Chargers. Horvath spent time on practice squads with Pittsburgh and the Chargers in 2023 and spent the offseason program and part of training camp with New Orleans in 2024. He played collegiately at Purdue (2018-2021), where he appeared in 38 games and rushed for 1,181 yards on 268 attempts (4.4 avg.) with eight touchdowns. He also recorded 68 receptions for 592 yards (8.7 avg.) and one touchdown. Horvath entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (260th overall) with the L.A. Chargers in 2022.
McFarland Jr. played in 17 games during four seasons with Pittsburgh (2020-23), where he rushed for 146 yards on 42 carries (3.5 avg.) and caught 11 passes for 87 yards (7.9 avg.). He also recorded nine kick returns for 237 yards (26.3 avg.) during his time with the Steelers. McFarland Jr. played collegiately at Maryland (2017-19), where he recorded 1,648 yards on 245 carries (6.7 avg.) with 12 touchdowns and added 24 receptions for 199 yards (8.3 avg.) and one touchdown. He entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (124th overall) with Pittsburgh in 2020.
Jackson entered the NFL on May 1, 2023 as an undrafted college free agent with Jacksonville, where he spent the season on the practice squad. He spent the 2024 offseason with the Jaguars. Jackson played collegiately at Colorado State (2018-2022), where he appeared in 46 games and recorded 307 tackles (121 solo), 2.5 sacks, one pass defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Janke entered the NFL on May 10, 2024 as an undrafted college free agent with Houston, where he spent part of this year’s training camp. He played collegiately at South Dakota State (2020-23), where he appeared in 51 games and caught 170 passes for 2,786 yards (16.4 avg.) and 30 touchdowns. He also contributed on special teams, recording 22 kick returns for 446 yards (20.3 avg.) and 16 punt returns for 183 yards (11.4 avg.).
Harlow signed with Miami on Aug. 3, 2024. Prior to signing with Miami, he played in 41 career games with eight starts – five at left guard and three at center. He spent time with the N.Y. Giants and Dallas in 2023 after two seasons with Arizona (2021-22) and four with Atlanta (2017, 2018-20). He also had a stint on Indianapolis’s practice squad in 2018. Harlow was a fourth-round pick (136th overall) by Atlanta in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Oregon State.
Snead IV signed with Miami on July 31, 2024 after spending time with San Francisco (2022-23), Carolina (2021), Las Vegas (2021), Baltimore (2018-20) and New Orleans (2014-17). He also had a stint on Carolina’s practice squad in 2014 after spending training camp with Cleveland. He has played in 103 career games with 48 starts, recording 281 receptions for 3,445 (12.3 avg.) and 16 touchdowns. Snead IV entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland on May 12, 2014. He played collegiately at Ball State.
Ahmed was awarded off waivers to Miami on Aug. 26, 2020 and has played in 38 games with four starts. He’s totaled 163 carries for 593 yards (3.6 avg.) and five touchdowns, along with 40 receptions for 274 yards (6.9 avg.) and one touchdown during his four-year career. Ahmed originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with San Francisco on May 1, 2020. He played collegiately at Washington.
Vandenburgh signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 12, 2023. He played collegiately at Illinois State (2017-2022), where he appeared in 51 career games with 33 starts. Vandenburgh was the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2022, leading all FCS players with 1.4 sacks per game (14.0 for the season).
