Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed tackle Greg Little on injured reserve and waived safety Sheldrick Redwine. The team also signed defensive tackle Andrew Billings to the practice squad and released defensive end Jabaal Sheard from the practice squad.

Little was acquired from Carolina in a trade on Aug. 17, 2021 but has been inactive for all 10 games this season. He has played in 14 NFL games with six starts after spending two seasons (2019-20) in Carolina. Little originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (37th overall) by Carolina in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Redwine was signed by Miami on Oct. 26, 2021 but has been inactive for three games. He spent time earlier this season on the Carolina and N.Y. Jets’ practice squads and appeared in two contests with the Jets, making three tackles (two solo) and three special teams stops (two solo). Redwine also spent two seasons (2018-19) with Cleveland. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (119th overall) by Cleveland in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed offensive lineman Greg Mancz on injured reserve and signed center Cameron Tom to the active roster.

Mancz was acquired by Miami in a trade with Baltimore on Aug. 28, 2021. He’s played in five games with four starts for the Dolphins this season, all coming at center. During his career, Mancz has played in 63 games with 32 starts. He’s also appeared in five postseason games with two starts. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Houston on May 8, 2015.

Tom was signed by Miami on Feb. 3, 2021 and has spent the entire season on Miami’s practice squad. The Dolphins elevated him to the active roster twice earlier this season. Tom previously spent four seasons (2017-20) in New Orleans, where he played in 12 games. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on May 8, 2017.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have elevated linebacker Vince Biegel and wide receiver Kirk Merritt for Sunday’s game.

Biegel has played in 15 games with 10 starts for the Dolphins since joining the team in a trade from New Orleans on Sept. 1, 2019. He played in 15 games with 10 starts, 57 tackles (26 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and one pass defensed in the 2019 season before missing the 2020 campaign due to injury. Biegel originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (108th overall) by Green Bay in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Merritt has spent each of the past two seasons (2020-21) on Miami’s practice squad. He made his NFL debut on Nov. 8, 2020 at Arizona but did not record any statistics. Merritt originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on April 29, 2020. He earned back-to-back first-team All-Sun Belt honors at Arkansas State in 2018 and 2019.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have been awarded linebacker Darius Hodge off waivers from Cincinnati.

Hodge was signed by Cincinnati as an undrafted college free agent on May 14, 2021 before being waived this week. He’s played in four NFL games but has not recorded any statistics. Hodge was a two-year starter (2019-20) at Marshall where he totaled 15.5 sacks in 31 career games. He earned first-team All-Conference USA honors as a redshirt junior in 2020. Hodge tied the school record with 4.5 sacks in a game against Old Dominion in 2019.

Miami Dolphins place Parker on IR

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed wide receiver DeVante Parker on injured reserve.

Parker has played in 88 games with 61 starts for the Dolphins over seven seasons (2015-21). He’s totaled 323 career receptions for 4,539 yards (14.1 avg.) and 23 touchdowns. His 4,359 receiving yards are sixth all-time in team history while his 323 receptions rank eighth on the Dolphins’ all-time chart. Parker originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (14th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft.
