Miami Dolphins make practice squad moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed defensive end Big Kat Bryant to the practice squad and placed linebacker Porter Gustin on the practice squad/injured list.

Bryant had a stint on Miami’s practice squad earlier this season. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Dallas on May 13, 2022. Bryant finished his collegiate career at Central Florida, where he earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2021 and led the team with six sacks. Prior to that, he played at Auburn, where he was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2020.

Gustin has been on Miami’s practice squad all season. He first signed with Miami on June 8, 2022. Gustin played three seasons (2019-21) in Cleveland, where he appeared in 26 games with four starts. He’s totaled 47 career tackles (23 solo), 1.0 sack and two fumble recoveries. Gustin also appeared in two playoff games, recording one tackle, one interception and one pass defensed. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2019 after playing collegiately at USC.

Miami Dolphins make practice squad moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed cornerback Tino Ellis and defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman to the practice squad and released defensive end Big Kat Bryant and cornerback Chris Steele from the practice squad.

Bryant was signed to Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 6, 2022. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Dallas on May 13, 2022. Bryant finished his collegiate career at Central Florida, where he earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2021 and led the team with six sacks. Prior to that, he played at Auburn, where he was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2020.

Ellis spent most of training camp with Miami before he was waived/injured on Aug. 16, 2022. He also spent time on Miami’s practice squad in 2020 and 2021. In the spring of 2022, Ellis played for the USFL’s Michigan Panthers, appearing in nine games and recording 35 tackles (26 solo) and one interception. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on April 29, 2020 following a collegiate career at Maryland.

Steele was signed to Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 6, 2022. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Pittsburgh on May 5, 2022. Steele played collegiately at USC, where he appeared in 29 games with 23 starts in three seasons (2019-21). He earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors as a junior in 2021 and as a sophomore in 2020.

Twyman originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (199th overall) by Minnesota in the 2021 NFL Draft. He missed the 2021 season on the non-football injury list and spent most of the 2022 season on Minnesota’s practice squad before being released on Oct. 4, 2022. Twyman played collegiately at Pittsburgh, where he started all 13 games as a sophomore in 2019 and became the first interior lineman to lead Pitt in sacks (10.5) since Aaron Donald had 11.0 in 2013.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated safety Clayton Fejedelem off injured reserve and elevated offensive lineman Brandon Shell for Sunday’s game. The team also placed tight end Cethan Carter on injured reserve.

Carter played in one game for Miami this season and has appeared in 17 games with one start since signing with Miami on March 18, 2021. He spent his first four NFL seasons in Cincinnati (2017-20), where he played in 45 games with five starts. During his NFL career, Carter has totaled nine receptions for 82 yards (9.1 avg.) and one touchdown. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cincinnati on May 5, 2017 following a collegiate career at Nebraska.

Fejedelem signed with Miami as an unrestricted free agent from Cincinnati on March 21, 2020 and was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 1, 2022. He has played in 30 games over the past two seasons (2020-21) for the Dolphins, totaling 15 special teams tackles. Fejedelem has appeared in 94 NFL games with six starts after spending the first four years of his career (2016-19) in Cincinnati. He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (245th overall) by Cincinnati in the 2016 NFL Draft after playing collegiately at Illinois.

Shell joined Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 19, 2022. He has played in 70 career games with 61 starts over six NFL seasons and spent four years (2016-19) with the N.Y. Jets and two (2020-21) with Seattle. Shell also started one playoff game in 2020. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (158th overall) by the Jets in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Miami Dolphins sign Sinnett to practice squad

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed quarterback Reid Sinnett to the practice squad.

Sinnett spent parts of the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Dolphins before he was awarded off waivers to Philadelphia on Oct. 25, 2021. He spent the rest of the 2021 campaign on Philadelphia’s active roster. During the 2021 preseason, Sinnett completed 30-of-45 passes (66.7 pct.) for 401 yards, three touchdowns and a passer rating of 107.7 for the Dolphins. He first joined Miami’s practice squad on Sept. 14, 2020 and originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tampa Bay on May 4, 2020. Sinnett played collegiately at San Diego.
