MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed quarterback Mike White as an unrestricted free agent from the N.Y. Jets.
White has played in eight NFL games with seven starts, all with the N.Y. Jets from 2021-22. He’s completed 191-of-307 passes (62.2 pct.) for 2,145 yards, eight touchdowns and a 75.4 passer rating. White originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (171st overall) by Dallas in the 2018 NFL Draft and was on the active roster his entire rookie season before joining the Jets practice squad in 2019. A Pembroke Pines, Florida native, White played at University School and was the 3A Florida Player of the Year as a senior before playing collegiately at Western Kentucky.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed tackle Geron Christian, running back Myles Gaskin, linebacker Duke Riley and running back Jeff Wilson Jr.
Christian was awarded to Miami off waivers from Kansas City on Jan. 5, 2023. He dressed for Miami’s Week 18 and AFC Wild Card games but did not play. Christian has played in 48 career games with 16 starts – 15 at left tackle and one as an extra offensive lineman. He played in 24 games with eight starts for Washington (2018-20), 14 games with eight starts for Houston (2021) and 10 games for Kansas City (2022). Christian was originally a third-round pick (74th overall) by Washington in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Louisville.
Gaskin was a seventh-round pick (234th overall) by Miami in the 2019 NFL Draft. He led the Dolphins in rushing in 2020 (584 yards) and 2021 (612 yards). In four seasons with the Dolphins, he’s played in 38 games with 17 starts, totaling 361 carries for 1,355 yards (3.8 avg.) and seven touchdowns. He also recorded 101 catches for 701 yards (6.9 avg.) and six touchdowns. Gaskin played collegiately at Washington where he was teammates with fellow Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed.
Riley joined Miami as an unrestricted free agent from Philadelphia on March 22, 2021. He played in 33 games with five starts since then, totaling 62 tackles (36 solo), one sack and two passes defensed, along with nine special teams stops, for Miami. Riley has played a total of 90 games in his career after spending time with Atlanta (2017-19) and Philadelphia (2019-20). He originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (75th overall) by Atlanta in the 2017 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at LSU.
Wilson joined the Dolphins in a trade from San Francisco on Nov. 1, 2022. He played in eight games with one start for Miami during the second half of the season, totaling 84 carries for 392 yards (4.7 avg.) and three touchdowns as well as 12 receptions for 94 yards (7.8 avg.) and one touchdown. Combined with his total from San Francisco, Wilson rushed for a career-high 860 yards in 2022 and topped 1,000 scrimmage yards (1,045) for the first time in his career. He spent the first four-plus years (2018-22) of his career in San Francisco, where he signed as an undrafted college free agent on May 2, 2018. Wilson played collegiately at North Texas.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have released cornerback Byron Jones with a failed physical and post-June 1 designation. The team was also awarded wide receiver Freddie Swain off waivers from Denver.
Jones joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent from Dallas on March 21, 2020. He started 30 games for the Dolphins, totaling 95 tackles (75 solo), two interceptions, 14 passes defensed and two forced fumbles from 2020-21 before missing the 2022 season on the physically unable to perform list. Jones originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (27th overall) by Dallas in the 2015 NFL Draft following a standout collegiate career at UConn.
Swain spent most of the 2022 season on Miami’s practice squad and appeared in one game before he was signed by Denver, where he played in three contests with one start, catching four passes for 74 yards (18.5 avg.). In Swain’s career, he’s appeared in 37 contests with 10 starts and has 42 receptions for 576 yards (13.7 avg.) and six touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (214th overall) by Seattle in the 2020 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Florida.

Miami Dolphins make trade with L.A. Rams
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced that they have agreed to terms on a trade with the Los Angeles Rams for Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey in exchange for tight end Hunter Long and a 2023 third-round pick.
Ramsey is a three-time first-team All-Pro selection (2017, 2020-21) and has been named to six consecutive Pro Bowls (2017-22). He’s played seven NFL seasons (2016-22) for two teams – Jacksonville and the L.A. Rams – totaling 108 games played and 107 starts. Ramsey has 452 career tackles (375 solo), two sacks, 19 interceptions, 92 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He was the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by Jacksonville following a collegiate career at Florida State, where he was a consensus All-American in 2015 and won the BCS National Championship in 2013.
Long played in 16 games with two starts in two seasons (2021-22) for Miami. He totaled one reception for eight yards and one solo special teams tackle. Long originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (81st overall) by Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Boston College, where he earned first-team All-ACC and second-team All-American honors as a junior in 2020.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed tackle Kendall Lamm and running back Raheem Mostert.
Lamm joined the Dolphins practice squad on Nov. 28, 2022 and was promoted to the active roster on Dec. 31, 2022. He started one game at left tackle on Jan. 1, 2023 at New England. Lamm has played in 87 career games with 29 starts over eight NFL seasons. He’s also appeared in seven playoff games with one postseason start. Lamm began his career as an undrafted college free agent with Houston on May 8, 2015 and has played for Houston (2015-18), Cleveland (2019-20), Tennessee (2021) and Miami (2022). He played collegiately at Appalachian State.
Mostert played 16 games with 14 starts in 2022 and was Miami’s leading rusher last year, totaling a career-high 891 yards on 181 carries (4.9 avg.) and three touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 202 yards (6.5 avg.) and two touchdowns along with 25 kickoff returns for 502 yards (20.1 avg.). Mostert joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 17, 2022 from San Francisco, where he spent the previous five-plus seasons (2016-21). He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Philadelphia on May 2, 2015 before spending time with Miami (2015), Baltimore (2015), Cleveland (2015) and Chicago (2016). Mostert played collegiately at Purdue.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed running back Salvon Ahmed.
Ahmed was awarded off waivers to Miami on Aug. 26, 2020 and has played in 30 games with four starts over three seasons (2020-22) with the Dolphins. He’s totaled 141 carries for 532 yards (3.8 avg.) and four touchdowns along with 24 receptions for 186 yards (7.8 avg.). Ahmed had a key 7-yard gain in the Jan. 8, 2023 game vs. the N.Y. Jets that set up a game-winning field goal and sent the Dolphins to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 1, 2020. Ahmed played collegiately at Washington.

Miami Dolphins announce 2023 coaching staff
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced their coaching staff for the 2023 season.
The Dolphins hired seven new coaches, two on offense and five on defense: offensive line coach Butch Barry, offensive assistant Max McCaffrey, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, assistant defensive line coach Kenny Baker, defensive assistant Steve Donatell, passing game coordinator/secondary Renaldo Hill and safeties coach Joe Kasper.
Miami also has three returning coaches with new roles: outside linebackers coach Ryan Slowik and offensive assistants Ricardo Allen and Mike Judge.

Allen spent the 2022 season as a special team assistant with the Dolphins, his first coaching job. He played eight seasons (2014-20) as an NFL safety, spending the first seven with Atlanta (2014-20) and his final season with Cincinnati (2021). Allen appeared in 91 regular-season games with 77 starts and played in two Super Bowls (LI and LVI).
Baker spent the past three seasons (2020-22) at Western Kentucky, where he was the school’s defensive line coach. He was also the defensive line coach at UT-Chattanooga (2019) and Mercer (2014-18). In 2021, Baker coached the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in defensive end DeAngelo Malone, who was a third-round pick (82nd overall) by Atlanta in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Barry enters his eighth season as an NFL coach, primarily working with the offensive line. He also has 14 years of experience as a collegiate coach, including a season at the University of Miami as the Hurricanes offensive line coach in 2019. Barry was the offensive line coach for the Denver Broncos in 2022 and served as assistant offensive line coach for San Francisco in 2021, helping the 49ers reach the NFC Championship game.
Donatell spent the 2022 season as a defensive quality control assistant for the Minnesota Vikings following a three-year stint (2019-21) as defensive quality control analyst for Stanford. In 2018, Donatell was the outside linebackers coach for UT-Chattanooga. He played linebacker at Wake Forest before transferring to Western Kentucky as a graduate and switching positions to tight end. Donatell also spent part of the 2017 season on Seattle’s practice squad.
Fangio enters his 37th season in the NFL and has been an NFL head coach or defensive coordinator in 22 of the past 28 seasons. He has coached three Hall of Fame players and 29 athletes who have a combined 48 Pro Bowl selections. His defenses have eight top 10 finishes in points allowed per game in the past 11 seasons he has called defensive plays. Fangio most recently served as a consultant for Philadelphia for the 2022 playoffs, helping the Eagles reach Super Bowl LVII. He was Denver’s head coach for three years from 2019 to 2021.
Hill enters his third stint with the Dolphins after playing safety for the team from 2006-08 and serving as assistant defensive backs coach in 2018. Most recently, Hill served as defensive coordinator for the L.A. Chargers from 2021-22, where he helped the Chargers reach the playoffs in 2022. He was defensive backs coach for Denver from 2019-20. As a player, Hill appeared in 141 NFL games with 114 starts from 2001 to 2010.
Judge enters his fifth season with the Dolphins. He began his tenure with the team as a quality control coach from 2019-20 before being promoted to assistant tight ends coach in 2021. During the 2022 season, Judge spent the year assisting the personnel department. Judge also coached fullbacks at the Naval Academy for 11 seasons (2008-18).
Kasper spent the past two seasons (2021-22) as a quality control coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, helping them win the NFC in 2022. Prior to that, Kasper was a graduate assistant at Duke, working with the defensive backs (2018-19) and quarterbacks (2020). His first collegiate coaching job came in 2017 at John Carroll, where he coached wide receivers. Kasper played safety at Baldwin Wallace University.
McCaffrey enters his first season as an NFL coach after spending the past three seasons (2020-22) at Northern Colorado, where he coached wide receivers in 2020 and served as offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach from 2021-22. McCaffrey played wide receiver for Jacksonville (2017) and San Francisco (2018) following a standout career at Duke.
Slowik was a senior defensive assistant for the Dolphins in 2022, his first season with the club. He has 13 years of NFL coaching experience, spending time with Denver (2005-08), Arizona (2009-14), the N.Y. Jets (2015) and Cleveland (2016), primarily on the defensive side of the ball. He coached outside linebackers for Arizona in 2012 and Cleveland in 2016.

Miami Dolphins re-sign Pouncey to one-day contract
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced that they have re-signed center Mike Pouncey to a one-day contract so he can formally retire as a Miami Dolphins.
Pouncey played seven seasons with the Dolphins, starting 93 games from 2011 to 2017. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Pouncey was selected to four Pro Bowls in his career – three of those with the Dolphins – and is one of only nine offensive linemen in team history with three or more Pro Bowl selections. Pouncey is the only Dolphins offensive lineman to ever be selected at two different positions, as he was picked at center in 2013 and 2015 and guard in 2014. He’s the third center in team history to earn multiple Pro Bowl honors at center, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Jim Langer and Dwight Stephenson. And his three consecutive Pro Bowl selections were the most by a Dolphins offensive lineman since Keith Sims from 1993-95.
Pouncey also was a two-time winner of the team’s Don Shula Leadership Award, earning the honor in 2012 and 2015. Voted on by his teammates, he became the eighth two-time winner of the award. In 2015, Pouncey also earned the Good Guy Award, voted on annually by local media.
Pouncey played the final two seasons of his career (2018-19) for the L.A. Chargers, where he earned another Pro Bowl selection following the 2018 season. A native of Lakeland, Florida, he played at the University of Florida where he was a BCS national champion (2009) and started 45 games at three different positions – guard, center and defensive tackle.
