MIAMI DOLPHINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced that the team has restructured the contracts of tight end Jordan Cameron and defensive tackle Robert Thomas II. The team has also signed wide receiver Christion Jones to a free agent contract.

Cameron joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 12, 2015 after playing his first four NFL seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2011-14). In 2015, his first season with the Dolphins, Cameron started all 16 games and totaled 35 receptions for 386 yards (11.0 avg.) and three touchdowns.

For his career, Cameron has played in 63 games and made 47 starts. He has caught 165 passes for 1,986 yards (12.0 avg.) and 13 touchdowns. Cameron was selected in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2011 NFL draft by the Browns.

The Dolphins originally signed Thomas off the New England Patriots practice squad on Dec. 1, 2015. Thomas played in one game, the first regular season appearance of his NFL career, before being placed on injured reserve.

Thomas started seven games as a senior at Arkansas in 2013 and made 31 stops (16 solo), including six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. He missed the rest of his senior season due to injury.

Jones originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Dolphins in 2015. He was waived on Sept. 9, 2015 after the final preseason game.

As a collegiate player at Alabama, Jones played in 53 career games and lettered four years for the Crimson Tide. He recorded 85 receptions for 1,030 yards (12.1 avg.) and seven touchdowns. Jones also returned kickoffs and punts for Alabama, totaling 66 career punt returns for a 10.9-yard average and 68 kickoff returns for 1,727 yards (25.4 avg.) and two touchdowns.
