Miami Dolphins Sign Ramsey to Contract Extension

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins have signed cornerback Jalen Ramsey to a contract extension through the 2028 season, it was announced Saturday.

Ramsey, who was recently named a team captain, enters his ninth NFL season and his second with the Dolphins after being traded to Miami from the L.A. Rams on March 15, 2023. He started 10 games in his first season with Miami, recording 22 tackles (18 solo), three interceptions and five passes defensed. Ramsey made an immediate impact after suffering an injury in training camp and returning to the active roster in Week 8, intercepting three passes in his first two games of the season and earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in the Week 11 win vs. Las Vegas.

A Super Bowl LVI Champion, Ramsey has been selected to seven-consecutive Pro Bowls, which is tied for the fourth-longest Pro Bowl selection streak by an NFL defensive back since 1970.

Ramsey, who was selected as the No. 25 player on the 2024 NFL Network Top 100 list, has appeared in 118 career game with 117 starts, recording 474 tackles (393 solo), 2.0 sacks, 22 interceptions with one returned for a touchdown, 97 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His 22 interceptions since 2016 are tied for fifth-most among NFL cornerbacks in that span. He entered the league as first-round selection (fifth overall) by Jacksonville in the 2016 NFL Draft after an outstanding collegiate career at Florida State.
