Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have activated quarterback Tyler Huntley off the injured reserve list and placed linebacker Tyus Bowser on the injured reserve list.

The team also elevated long snapper Zach Triner to the active roster for tonight’s game.

Huntley signed with Miami on Sept. 17, 2024, and started three games, completing 39-of-66 attempts (59.1 pct.) for 377 yards and one touchdown, along with 67 yards on 16 carries (4.2 avg.) and one rushing touchdown. Prior to Miami, he spent four seasons with Baltimore (2020-23), where he appeared in two postseason contests (2020, 2022), starting one of them in 2022. A 2022 Pro Bowl selection, he’s appeared in 23 career games with 12 starts, completing 260-of-408 passes (67.7 pct.) for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions. Huntley spent the 2024 offseason with Cleveland and the first two weeks of the regular season on Baltimore’s practice squad. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Baltimore in 2020. Huntley played collegiately at Utah, where he appeared in 37 career games with 33 starts and completed 574-of-854 passes (67.2 pct.) for 7,351 yards, 46 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He attended Hallandale High School in Hallandale Beach, Fla., where he was named the 2015 Florida Gatorade Player of the Year.

Bowser is an eight-year veteran who has appeared in 98 career games with 28 starts with Baltimore (2017-23), Seattle (2024) and Miami (2024). He’s recorded 148 tackles (87 solo), 19.5 sacks, four interceptions, 16 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his NFL career. He appeared in seven games with four starts and recorded 10 tackles (five solo) after signing with Miami on Oct. 3, 2024. Bowser played collegiately at Houston, where he appeared in 48 games with 23 starts during his four-year career with the Cougars (2013-16) and recorded 136 tackles (70 solo), 21.5 sacks, 27.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and eight passes defensed. He also played basketball for Houston during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. Bowser entered the league as a second-round selection (47th overall) by Baltimore in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Triner has appeared in 81 career games in six seasons with Tampa Bay (2019-24). He also spent time on the practice squad with Green Bay at the end of the 2017 season. Triner entered the NFL in 2017 as a free agent with the N.Y. Jets. He played collegiately at Assumption College (2012-14) in Worcester, Mass.
