Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed long snapper Jake McQuaide to the active roster off the practice squad and placed wide receiver Grant DuBose on the injured reserve list. The team also signed wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and quarterback Skylar Thompson to the practice squad.

McQuaide is a 14-year veteran who has appeared in 194 career games with St. Louis/L.A. Rams (2011-2020), Dallas (2021-22), Detroit (2023) and Minnesota (2024). He also spent time on the practice squad with Chicago in 2024. McQuaide was named to consecutive Pro Bowls in 2016 and 2017. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Rams in 2011 and played collegiately at Ohio State (2006-10).

DuBose signed with Miami on Aug. 28, 2024, and appeared in three games with the Dolphins this season, recording two receptions for 11 yards. He entered the league as a seventh-round selection (256th overall) by Green Bay in the 2023 NFL Draft and spent the 2023 season on their practice squad. DuBose finished his collegiate career at Charlotte, where he appeared in 24 games with 20 starts in two seasons (2021-22) after transferring from Miles College. He recorded 126 receptions for 1,684 yards (13.3 avg.) and 15 touchdowns at Charlotte, where he ranked second in school history in career receiving yards per game (70.2) and fourth in career receiving yards (1,684).

McKenzie has appeared in 93 career games with 28 starts in seven seasons with Denver (2017-18), Buffalo (2018-22) and Indianapolis (2023). He has recorded 152 receptions for 1,427 yards (9.4 avg.) and 11 touchdowns, along with 50 carries for 244 rushing yards (4.9 avg.) and four touchdowns. He also played in seven postseason games with Buffalo, starting in two and tallying 13 receptions for 95 yards (7.3 avg.) and one touchdown. McKenzie entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection (172nd overall) by Denver in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Georgia (2014-16), where he recorded 60 receptions for 823 yards and seven touchdowns in addition to 37 carries for 329 rushing yards (8.9 avg.) and four touchdowns.

Thompson has appeared in 10 career games with three starts in three seasons with Miami (2022-24), completing 81-of-138 passing attempts for 721 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He entered the league as a seventh-round selection (247th overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Kansas State (2017-21), where he started 40 career games, totaling 7,134 passing yards and 42 passing touchdowns while adding 1,087 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns.
