MIAMI DOLPHINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced the team has signed safety Isa Abdul-Quddus, linebacker James-Michael Johnson, center/guard Jacques McClendon and tackle Sam Young. The Dolphins have also signed running back C.J. Anderson to an offer sheet. Cornerback Byron Maxwell has restructured his contract.

Abdul-Quddus (pronounced EE-sa Ab-dool KA-doos) played all 16 games and started eight for the Detroit Lions in 2015. He set a career high with 55 total tackles (40 solo) and added six passes defense and four quarterback hits. Entering his fifth NFL season, Abdul-Quddus has played 74 games and has 16 starts, totaling 136 tackles (99 solo) and two interceptions. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on July 27, 2011 before he was signed by the Lions on Feb. 3, 2014.

Johnson played in three games for the Dolphins in 2015 after two stints on the team. He totaled three special teams tackles (two solo). Johnson was originally signed by Miami on Nov. 18, 2015 after playing two games for the Jacksonville Jaguars and one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier in the 2015 season. A fourth-round selection (120th overall) by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, Johnson is entering his fourth NFL season and has played in 48 career games and made 18 starts. He has totaled 88 career tackles (64 solo) and seven tackles for loss.

McClendon spent several stints with Miami in 2015 after two seasons with the Jaguars (2013-14) following time on the practice squads of the Detroit Lions (2011), Pittsburgh Steelers (2012) and Atlanta Falcons (2012). He was also on the Indianapolis Colts’ active roster in 2010. He was originally a fourth-round selection (129th overall) of the Colts in the 2010 NFL draft. Entering his sixth NFL season, McClendon has appeared in 22 career games with five starts. In 2015 he played in three games for Miami. McClendon played collegiately at Tennessee where he started 26 of 49 games at guard.

Young has played in 58 career games and started 13 of them. He spent the past two-plus seasons with the Jaguars (2013-15), where he played in 36 games and made nine starts. In 2015, Young played all 16 games and started three for the Jaguars and was not penalized the entire season. He joined Jacksonville off waivers on Oct. 8, 2013. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (179th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2010 NFL draft. A Coral Springs, Fla. native, Young attended St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. before playing collegiately at Notre Dame.

Anderson played the past three seasons with the Denver Broncos (2013-15), where he began his career as an undrafted college free agent from California on April 27, 2013. He has played in 35 career NFL games with 13 starts and totaled 338 career carries for 1,607 yards (4.8 avg.) and 13 rushing touchdowns. Anderson has also caught 59 career passes for 507 yards (8.6 avg.) and two touchdowns. In 2015, Anderson played in 15 games for the Broncos and started six of them. He rushed 152 times for 720 yards (4.7 avg.) and five touchdowns for the Super Bowl champions, including a 2-yard rushing touchdown in Super Bowl 50. Anderson also added 25 receptions for 183 yards (7.3 avg.).
