MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed wide receiver Leonte Carroo (third round/86th overall) and tight end Thomas Duarte (seventh round/231st overall), both selected in the 2016 NFL draft.

Carroo earned four letters (2012-15) and started two seasons at Rutgers. He played in 44 career games with 22 starts and left the school as the all-time leader with 29 receiving touchdowns. During his career, Carroo caught 122 passes for 2,373 yards (19.5 avg.). He led the team with 39 receptions for 809 yards (20.7 avg.) and 10 touchdowns despite playing just eight games as a senior in 2015 and earned the Homer Hazel Trophy as the team’s most valuable player. He was also named third-team All-Big Ten.

Duarte was a three-year letterman (2013-15) and two-year starter at UCLA, where he played in 38 career games and made 22 starts. He recorded career totals of 97 receptions for 1,626 yards (16.8 avg.) and 17 touchdowns and ranks No. 17 in school history in career receiving yards. Duarte earned second-team All-Pac 12 honors as a junior in 2015 after he totaled 53 receptions for 872 yards (16.5 avg.) and 10 touchdowns. The 10 touchdowns ranked No. 4 in all-time single-season school history.
