* Game subject to flexible scheduling in Weeks 11-17
All times EASTERN

“Flexible scheduling” will again be used in Weeks 11-17.  In Weeks 11-16, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game.

For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to December 29. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot.  Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.

Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

Miami Dolphins Host More Than 800 Participants at Fourth Annual Coaches Clinic presented by Nike

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today hosted more than 800 local youth and high school coaches at their fourth annual Coaches Clinic presented by Nike and supported by Ephesus Sports Lighting and Gatorade at Hard Rock Stadium. Coaches from Charleston Southern University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Miami and St. Thomas University taught 33 different classroom and on-field sessions focused on game and practice techniques, motivational tools and core football competencies. Miami Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores welcomed the participants prior to the breakout sessions. Participants received a Nike gift bag and high school coaches received Gatorade product for their team.

“I really believe that this, right now, is a celebration of our game, a game that’s very important to me, that’s done a lot for me in my life. I talk about this as much as I can: football, growing up as a poor kid in Brooklyn, New York, I would say football is the only thing that leveled the playing field for me, me and my family, and it’s done that in a big way,” said Flores. “To be in a room filled with coaches who want to make an impact, who want to help develop young people, of course I’m going to come do this, of course I’m going to come speak. What I want to do is give you guys a round of applause for doing the things that you do.”

“This event was a great opportunity for coaches at all levels to grow as teachers and have a positive impact on their teams,” said Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Director RaShauna Hamilton. “We are committed to making the game healthier and safer for South Florida student-athletes, coaches and parents. It is great to have the support, time and resources of our senior leadership in Stephen Ross, Tom Garfinkel, Chris Grier and Brian Flores with important events like this that help advance our mission.”

Also on hand to present about concussion education was Gillian Hotz, Ph.D., Director of the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute’s concussion program. In 2017, the Miami Dolphins Foundation partnered with the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute and KiDZ Neuroscience Center at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis to sponsor The University of Miami Countywide Concussion Care High School Program, which performs baseline concussion testing for all high school athletes at Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Additionally, Tod Creneti from the Positive Coaching Alliance offered presentations on how to be a more effective coach and encourage young athletes, USA Football provided Heads Up Football certification to youth coaches and the Florida High School Athletics Association presented on compliance.

The Junior Dolphins program encourages youth players and coaches to learn, teach and play football in a fun and safe environment. The Junior Dolphins program is designed to give kids access to learn the fundamentals of football using the NFL’s top resources. To grow the game, the Junior Dolphins program will work to educate coaches, parents and youth on the health and safety of football with a strong emphasis on character development. Junior Dolphins is building the next generation of Dolphins Fans.

Sylvester Foundation will continue to share the stories of #CancerFighters, those on the front line who galvanize efforts at the DCC.

“Today we honor and fight for those battling this disease that has touched all of us. We believe you don’t have to have cancer to fight cancer and year after year the community shows its immense support for the DCC,” Dolphins Cancer Challenge Executive Director Jennifer Jehn said. “These survivors are living proof of the tremendous work being done at Sylvester through innovative research and targeted therapies – every dollar raised is making a difference to one day tackle cancer.”

“Throughout the entire 100 mile ride, I observed the dedication of so many people working to make this happen. The incredible support from the Miami Dolphins Foundation, the thousands of DCC participants, and donations from many generous contributors have such a significant impact on the patient-focused research we conduct,” Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Director Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., said. “Having a record number of cancer survivors participating speaks to the important progress we are making treating cancer. It all starts with research.”

DCC IX concluded with a new Finish Line Festival presented by Moss Construction on the grounds of the new tennis campus at Hard Rock Stadium. The event featured live entertainment throughout the day from the Ultimate Stage present by Ultimate Software. The festival grounds included delicious cuisine and beverages from the roof top bar and beer garden as well as games, inflatables, a petting zoo, yoga, massages and more for the whole family.

The Dolphins Cancer Challenge donates 100 percent of the participant-raised funds to innovative cancer research at Sylvester. The event would not be possible without the incredible support of all contributors, including Champion partners Harcourt M. and Virginia W. Sylvester Foundation, Lennar Foundation and Moss Construction as well as Hero partners AutoNation, BBVA Compass, Breakthru Beverage, EventStar Structures and JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa. Funds are still being collected through May 7, 2019. The DCC continues to solidify its position as the largest event fundraiser in the NFL.

Through #TeamWorkAtWork, the Miami Dolphins Foundation is committed to leveling the playing field through the power of teamwork to inspire a healthier, more educated and united South Florida Community.

The Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) was founded in 2010 by the Miami Dolphins organization as the signature initiative of the Foundation’s health area. The DCC’s mission is to improve people’s lives through financial support for innovative cancer research at South Florida’s only academic-based cancer center – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth — the University of Miami Health System. Since its inception, the DCC has raised more than $27.5 million, donating 100 percent of participant-raised funds to Sylvester. For more information, visit www.DolphinsCancerChallenge.com.
