Miami Dolphins Ink Partnership with Hyundai as Official Team Sponsor

Agreement Includes Entitlement to Exclusive North Sideline Club Space within Stadium

Miami – The Miami Dolphins today announced a multi-year partnership with Hyundai as an official automotive sponsor. The partnership includes entitlement of the stadium’s North Sideline Club, now the “Hyundai Club,” a sleek, air-conditioned space designed by the Rockwell Group within the stadium offering a perfect location for spending time with family and friends pregame, in-game and postgame.

“We are excited to partner with Hyundai on this multi-year agreement. Hyundai is a global brand investing in the growth of Miami and South Florida through the Miami Dolphins business and community initiatives,” Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer Todd Kline said. “Once renovations are complete, the Hyundai Club at the north sideline and additional new features within the stadium will continue to make our venue a global iconic destination poised to host Dolphins football, concerts and world class events.”

In 2016, Hyundai will have three vehicles on display at all Dolphins home games. Hyundai also will have digital LED signage running on all team-related announcements at the stadium. In game, the automaker will present the “The Hyundai Drive of the Game” highlight feature on videoboards, PA announcements and through social and digital media.

Additional assets include branding as the official sponsor of Dolphins media partner WFOR CBS Miami’s “The Head Coach’s Show driven by Hyundai,” airing every Sunday morning in season from 11-11:30 a.m. Finally, Hyundai also is the official sponsor of the Miami Dolphin’s Thanksgiving meal distribution program, and will be the lead vehicle for the official start of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge.

MIAMI DOLPHINS ANNOUNCE 2016 SCHEDULE

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins will open the 2016 season on the West Coast for just the second time in team history when they meet the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 11 at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. The trip opens a 2016 campaign that will see the Dolphins travel in three of the first four weeks against three playoff teams from a season ago – at Seattle (Sept. 11), at New England (Sept. 18) and at Cincinnati (Sept. 29). The first month of the season also will feature Miami’s first nationally-televised contest on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Cincinnati (NFL Network).

Miami will open the 2016 home slate on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. against the Cleveland Browns. The Dolphins will play four consecutive home games for the first time since 1971 when they host Tennessee (Oct. 9), Pittsburgh (Oct. 16), Buffalo (Oct. 23) and the N.Y. Jets (Nov. 6). The Dolphins will have their bye on the weekend of Oct. 29-30.

Three of the Dolphins’ home games will feature playoff teams from last year, including the Pittsburgh game. Miami also will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Dec. 11 and the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.

Miami will play at the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 20, the first time the Dolphins have traveled to Los Angeles since 1988. The game will take place at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the same stadium that hosted Miami’s first Super Bowl win when the Dolphins capped off their perfect 17-0 1972 season in Super Bowl VII against the Washington Redskins.

The Dolphins will play two Saturday games for the first time since 1970 – both coming on back-to-back weekends. Miami will play its second primetime contest on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the New York Jets on NFL Network. It will be the first Saturday night primetime game in franchise history. The following week, the Dolphins will play at Buffalo on Saturday, Dec. 24.

Miami’s eight road games in 2016 will have the team travel a total of 25,366 miles (roundtrip) away from home. It will be the most miles traveled by the Dolphins in an eight-game road schedule in team history (does not include London games in 2015 and 2007, where Miami was designated as the home team). The 25,366 road-game miles will be the most of any NFL team located in the Eastern time zone in 2016 and the fourth-most in the NFL, behind the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

To sign up for an exclusive single-game ticket presale on May 3, visit Dolphins.com. To learn more about becoming a Member of the Dolphins and guarantee the best ticket price and location, call 1-888-FINS-TIX (1-888-346-7849) or visit Dolphins.com.

For the third straight year, a select number of games will be “cross-flexed,” moving between CBS and FOX to bring potentially under-distributed games to wider audiences. Some of those contests were announced today while the remainder of “cross-flexed” games will be decided during the season.

“Flexible scheduling” will be used in Weeks 5-17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-16, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday nights. A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 3. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
