Miami Dolphins Announce 2020 Broadcast Team

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced the broadcast team for the 2020 season, adding Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end/linebacker Jason Taylor to the Entercom Radio broadcast. The Dolphins great will join fellow alumni Jimmy Cefalo, Joe Rose and Kim Bokamper. In addition, Roly Martin and Eduardo Martell will return to broadcast games on Univision Deportes Radio.

560 The Joe will serve as the official English flagship radio partner of the Dolphins. Cefalo will handle play-by-play duties and will be joined in the booth by Rose and Taylor. It will mark the 16th consecutive season that Cefalo and Rose have been part of the Dolphins’ radio broadcast crew. Fellow alumnus Kim Bokamper will continue giving his perspective on the on-field action from areas near the field and Hall of Fame quarterback Bob Griese will contribute to additional Dolphins platforms, including the pregame broadcast, The Audible and The Fish Tank. All Dolphins games are simulcast on KISS 99.9 FM and can be heard on Dolphins.com and throughout South and Central Florida on a variety of stations that make up the Miami Dolphins Radio Network. Gameday radio broadcasts are also available on the Dolphins Mobile app.

Univision Deportes Radio 1140 AM is the Dolphins official Spanish radio broadcast partner. Roly Martin will once again handle play-by-play while Eduardo Martell will provide game analysis. This will be the 29th season Martin has been part of the Dolphins’ Spanish radio broadcast team while Martell is in his sixth season.

Miami Dolphins release Rogers

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have released wide receiver Chester Rogers.

Rogers was signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 9, 2020. He played four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (2016-19) and appeared in 53 career games with 22 starts. Rogers has 111 career receptions for 1,221 yards (11.0 avg.) and five touchdowns. He also has five carries for 22 yards (4.4 avg.), five kickoff returns for 42 yards (8.4 avg.) and 60 punt returns for 551 yards (9.2 avg.). Rogers originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Indianapolis on May 3, 2016.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived safety Jeremiah Dinson, defensive end Avery Moss and cornerback Deatrick Nichols. The team also released wide receiver Ricardo Louis.

Dinson was awarded off waivers to the Dolphins on Aug. 15, 2020. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Detroit on May 1, 2020. Dinson was a four-year letterman (2015, 2017-19) and three-year starter at Auburn, where he played in 48 career games with 36 starts. He totaled 214 tackles (129 solo), four sacks, four interceptions, 12 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his collegiate career.

Moss was re-signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 27, 2020. He originally joined the team on Sept. 1, 2019 after he was awarded off waivers from the N.Y. Giants. Moss played in 11 games with eight starts for the Dolphins last year. He totaled 25 tackles (11 solo) and one forced fumble. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (167th overall) by the Giants in the 2017 NFL draft.

Nichols joined the Dolphins on Aug. 13, 2020. He previously spent time with New Orleans (2020) and Arizona (2018-19), appearing in two games for the Cardinals in 2018. He also played for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL this past spring, where he had 24 tackles (16 solo), one sack, three interceptions and six passes defensed. Nichols originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Arizona on May 11, 2018.

Louis re-signed with the Dolphins on Aug. 8, 2020. He originally joined the team on April 8, 2019 but was on injured reserve for the entire 2019 season. Louis played all 32 games with 12 starts in the first two years of his NFL career (2016-17), both with Cleveland. He totaled 45 receptions for 562 yards (12.5 avg.) before missing the 2018 season due to injury. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (114th overall) by Cleveland in the 2016 NFL draft. Louis, a Miami native, attended Miami Beach Senior High School and the University of Miami.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed wide receiver Andy Jones and waived linebacker James Crawford.

Jones had been waived by Miami on April 20, 2020. He spent two stints on Miami’s practice squad during the 2019 season. Jones has also spent time with Detroit (2017-19), Houston (2017) and Dallas (2016-17). He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Dallas on May 6, 2016. During his career, Jones has played in 11 games with three starts, totaling 11 receptions for 80 yards (7.3 avg.) and one touchdown.

Crawford was awarded off waivers to Miami on Sept. 3, 2019 and played in three games with the Dolphins last year before being placed on injured reserve. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay on Aug. 8, 2018. Crawford has appeared in 19 career games with one tackle, one fumble recovery and nine special teams stops.

Miami Dolphins make trade with Raiders

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have acquired a 2021 fourth-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for linebacker Raekwon McMillan and a 2021 fifth-round pick.

McMillan played in 29 career games with 28 starts – all with Miami. He totaled 177 tackles (104 solo), two passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In 2019, McMillan played in 13 games with 12 starts, totaling 72 tackles (35 solo) and one pass defensed. He originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (54th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2017 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated cornerback Xavien Howard off the reserve/COVID-19* and active/physically unable to perform lists. The team also signed defensive end Avery Moss and waived cornerback Picasso Nelson Jr. and center Donell Stanley.

Howard has played in 40 career games with 39 starts – all for the Dolphins. He has totaled 140 career tackles (108 solo), one sack, 12 interceptions, 35 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Howard tied for the NFL lead with seven interceptions in 2018. He originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (38th overall) by Miami in the 2016 NFL draft. The Dolphins placed him on the active/physically unable to perform list on July 28, 2020.

Moss was waived by the Dolphins on July 26, 2020 and originally joined the team on Sept. 1, 2019, after he was awarded off waivers from the N.Y. Giants. Moss played in 11 games with eight starts last year. He totaled 25 tackles (11 solo) and one forced fumble. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (167th overall) by the Giants in the 2017 NFL draft.

Nelson Jr. was awarded off waivers to the Dolphins on Aug. 3, 2020. He spent part of the 2019 season on Indianapolis’ practice squad and originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Jacksonville on May 10, 2019. Nelson also was selected by the Tampa Bay Vipers in the second round of the 2019 XFL Draft.

Stanley was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent on April 29, 2020. He was a five-year letterman (2015-19) and three-year starter at South Carolina, where he played in 50 career games with 38 starts. In college, 23 of his starts came at center while he also started 11 games at left guard and four at right guard.

*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

Miami Dolphins make trade with N.Y. Jets

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have acquired a 2021 conditional seventh-round draft pick from the New York Jets in exchange for running back Kalen Ballage.

Ballage has played in 24 games with six starts for the Dolphins over the past two seasons (2018-19). He’s totaled 110 carries for 326 yards (3.0 avg.) and four touchdowns, along with 23 receptions for 119 yards (5.2 avg.). Ballage originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (131st overall) by the Dolphins in the 2018 NFL draft. He was a four-year letterwinner (2014-17) and two-year starter at Arizona State.

Miami Dolphins awarded Ahmed off waivers

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have been awarded running back Salvon Ahmed off waivers from San Francisco.

Ahmed was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted college free agent on May 1, 2020. A three-year letterman (2017-19) at Washington, Ahmed earned third-team All-Pac 12 honors as a junior in 2019. He totaled 188 carries for 1,020 yards (5.4 avg.) and 11 touchdowns last year, adding 16 receptions for 84 yards (5.3 avg.). During his career, Ahmed totaled 353 carries for 2,016 yards (5.7 avg.) and 21 touchdowns.
