Miami Dolphins sign Jones

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed defensive tackle Benito Jones.

Jones returns to Miami after spending the past two seasons (2022-23) in Detroit. He played in six games with the Dolphins in 2020 and spent the 2021 season on Miami’s practice squad. During his career, Jones has appeared in 40 contests with 15 starts, totaling 44 tackles (22 solo), 2.5 sacks and two passes defensed. He’s also played in three playoff games, recording one solo stop. Jones originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on April 29, 2020. He played collegiately at Mississippi.

Miami Dolphins sign Barrett

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed linebacker Shaquil Barrett.

Barrett is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2019, 2021) and two-time Super Bowl champion (50, LV) that has played four seasons (2015-18) with Denver and five (2019-23) with Tampa Bay. He’s played in 131 career games with 85 starts, totaling 383 tackles (276 solo), 59.0 sacks, three interceptions, 18 passes defensed, 22 forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Barrett has also played in 11 postseason games with eight starts. He had a league-leading 19.5 sacks in 2019, his first Pro Bowl season. Barrett originally entered the NFL on May 10, 2014 as an undrafted college free agent with Denver following a collegiate career at Colorado State.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed defensive tackle Jonathan Harris.

Harris has played in 33 NFL games with nine starts in his career, spending most of his time with Denver (2019-23). He began his career as an undrafted college free agent with Chicago on May 2, 2019 and played in two games for the Bears that season. Harris has recorded 81 career tackles (50 solo) and 1.0 sack. He played in all 17 games with five starts for Denver in 2023, totaling 43 tackles (26 solo) and 1.0 sack. Harris played collegiately at Lindenwood.

Miami Dolphins sign Fuller

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed cornerback Kendall Fuller as an unrestricted free agent from Washington.

Fuller is entering his ninth NFL season after playing two stints in Washington (2016-17, 2020-23) and two years in Kansas City (2018-19). He won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs at the end of the 2019 season, intercepting a pass in that game. Fuller has played in 117 career games with 93 starts, totaling 483 tackles (365 solo), 2.0 sacks, 16 interceptions, 75 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. A two-time captain (2022-23), he’s started at least 14 games in four consecutive seasons and his 75 career passes defensed rank 13th in the NFL since he entered the league in 2016. Fuller played collegiately at Virginia Tech.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed safety Jordan Poyer.

Poyer is entering his 12th NFL season after spending time with Philadelphia (2013), Cleveland (2013-16) and Buffalo (2017-23). He’s played in 155 career games with 117 starts, recording 766 career tackles (533 solo), 12.0 sacks, 24 interceptions, 54 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries. He’s also started 11 playoff games, totaling 64 tackles (39 solo) and two forced fumbles in the postseason.

Poyer was a four-time team captain (2020-23) in Buffalo, where he earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2021 and a Pro Bowl selection in 2022. He and Minnesota safety Harrison Smith are the only two NFL players since 2017 to have 500-plus tackles, 20-plus interceptions and 10-plus sacks. His 22 interceptions since 2017 are tied for seventh in the NFL.

Miami Dolphins sign Gallimore

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed defensive tackle Neville Gallimore as an unrestricted free agent from Dallas.

Gallimore was a third-round pick (82nd overall) by Dallas in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s played in 52 career games with 14 starts, totaling 90 tackles (40 solo), 4.0 sacks and three passes defensed. He’s also played in three playoff games with one start. An Ottawa, Canada native, Gallimore was a first-team All-Big 12 selection at Oklahoma.

Miami Dolphins sign 3 free agents

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed offensive lineman Aaron Brewer, tight end Jody Fortson and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr.

Brewer has spent four seasons (2020-23) with Tennessee, where he appeared in 58 games with 40 starts. He’s also played in one postseason game. Brewer was moved to center following the 2022 season and started all 17 games there last year. Brewer has started all 34 games over the past two seasons, making 19 starts at center and 15 at left guard. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee on May 7, 2020. He played collegiately at Texas State.

Fortson has played in two NFL seasons (2021-22), appearing in 19 games with one start for Kansas City. He’s caught 14 career passes for 155 yards (11.1 avg.) and four touchdowns. Fortson appeared in two postseason games with one start for the Chiefs in 2022. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Kansas City on May 13, 2019 following a collegiate career at Valdosta State.

Walker has played seven NFL seasons, spending four years in Indianapolis (2017-20) and the past three (2021-23) in Cleveland. He’s appeared in 85 career games with 75 starts, recording 505 tackles (320 solo), 4.5 sacks, three interceptions, 19 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He also started three playoff games for Indianapolis. Walker was a two-time captain (2022-23) in Cleveland and was named the team’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee and the team’s Ed Block Courage Award recipient in 2023. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (161st overall) by Indianapolis in the 2017 NFL Draft. A Miami native, Walker played at Monsignor Edward Pace High School before playing collegiately at Northwestern.

Miami Dolphins re-sign Ahmed and Bailey

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have re-signed running back Salvon Ahmed and punter Jake Bailey.

Ahmed was awarded off waivers to Miami on Aug. 26, 2020 and has played 38 games with four starts during his four-year career (2020-23). He’s totaled 163 carries for 593 yards (3.6 avg.) and five touchdowns, while adding 40 receptions for 274 yards (6.9 avg.) and one touchdown. Ahmed also played in Miami’s AFC Wild Card game at Buffalo following the 2022 season. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 1, 2020 following a collegiate career at Washington.

Bailey joined the Dolphins on March 17, 2023 and played in all 17 regular-season games, as well as the AFC Wild Card game, totaling 53 punts for 2,424 yards (45.7 avg.) and a 40.7 net average. His 40.7 net punt average was fifth-best in single-season Dolphins history. Bailey is entering his sixth NFL season, having played in 75 career games. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (163rd overall) by New England in the 2019 NFL Draft and was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team in 2020 after he posted a league-best 45.6 net average. Bailey played collegiately at Stanford.
