Miami Dolphins sign Holley
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed safety Nate Holley.
Holley originally entered the NFL on June 8, 2018 when he signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He spent training camp there before he was waived on Sept. 2, 2018. Holley also spent time with the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Football League (2018) and the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (2019). He was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie following the 2019 season after he totaled 78 defensive tackles, 22 special teams tackles, one sack and one interception in 18 games.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated linebacker Sam Eguavoen off the reserve/COVID-19* list.
Eguavoen was signed by the Dolphins on Jan. 7, 2019, his first NFL contract. He played in all 16 games last year with six starts, totaling 40 tackles (21 solo), 3.5 sacks and one pass defensed. Eguavoen also played three seasons (2016-18) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed linebacker Vince Biegel on injured reserve and linebacker Sam Eguavoen on the reserve/COVID-19* list.
Biegel was traded from New Orleans to Miami on Sept. 1, 2019. He played in 15 games with 10 starts for the Dolphins last year, totaling 57 tackles (26 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and one pass defensed. He previously spent time with New Orleans (2018-19) and Green Bay (2017). Biegel originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (108th overall) by the Packers in the 2017 NFL draft.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have waived safety Adrian Colbert and tackle Nick Kaltmayer and activated defensive tackle Brandin Bryant off the reserve/COVID-19* list.
Colbert was signed by the Dolphins on Nov. 20, 2019 and played in six games with five starts for the team last year. He totaled 20 tackles (14 solo) and two passes defensed with Miami. Colbert also spent time with Seattle (2019) and San Francisco (2017-19). He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (229th overall) by San Francisco in the 2017 NFL draft. Colbert played his final season of college football at the University of Miami in 2016.
Kaltmayer was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent on April 29, 2020. He was a three-year letterman (2017-19) and one-year starter at Kansas State, where he played in 37 career games with 14 starts at right tackle. As a senior in 2019, Kaltmayer started all 13 games at right tackle and earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.
Bryant was signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 12, 2020. He made his NFL regular-season debut in 2019 with Cleveland, playing in four games with three tackles (two solo). Bryant also spent time with the N.Y. Jets (2016-17) and originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Seattle on May 6, 2016. He also spent two seasons in the Canadian Football League, appearing in 10 games with Winnipeg in 2018 and one game with Montreal in 2019. Bryant played collegiately at Florida Atlantic University.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have been awarded safety Jeremiah Dinson off waivers from Detroit, placed defensive tackle Brandin Bryant on the reserve/COVID-19* list and activated guard Ereck Flowers.
Dinson originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Detroit on May 1, 2020. He was a three-year starter (2017-19) at Auburn, where he played in 48 career games, totaling 214 tackles (129 solo) and four interceptions. As a senior in 2019, he served as a team captain and totaled 88 tackles (57 solo) and two interceptions. A Miami native, Dinson attended American Senior High School in Hialeah.
Bryant was signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 12, 2020. He made his NFL regular-season debut in 2019 with Cleveland, playing in four games with three tackles (two solo). Bryant also spent time with the N.Y. Jets (2016-17) and originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Seattle on May 6, 2016. He’s played in 75 career games with 71 starts after spending time in Washington (2019), Jacksonville (2018) and with the N.Y. Giants (2015-18). Last year, Flowers started all 16 games at left guard for Washington. He originally entered the NFL with the Giants as the ninth overall pick of the 2015 NFL draft. A Miami native, Flowers attended Norland Senior High School and the University of Miami.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed cornerback Deatrick Nichols and waived safety Steven Parker and tight end Bryce Sterk.
Nichols played two games for Arizona in 2018 and spent the 2019 offseason with the Cardinals. He did not record any statistics. Nichols played for the Houston Roughnecks earlier this year and led the XFL with three interceptions before the remainder of the season was canceled. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Arizona on May 11, 2018. A Miami native, Nichols played collegiately at South Florida and attended Miami Central High School.
Parker played in 14 games with four starts for the Dolphins last year after he was claimed off waivers on Sept. 1, 2019. He totaled 19 tackles (14 solo), two interceptions and three passes defensed. Parker originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the L.A. Rams on May 15, 2018 and spent the 2018 season on the Rams’ practice squad.
Sterk signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on April 29, 2020. He was a two-year starter (2018-19) at defensive end for Montana State before moving to tight end with the Dolphins. In college, Sterk started 28 games for the Bobcats and totaled 126 tackles (81 solo), 23.5 sacks, five passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

Miami Dolphins Announce Jersey Patch to Honor Legendary Football Coach Don Shula
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced the team will wear a jersey patch during the 2020 season to commemorate legendary football coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Don Shula. The patch will feature Shula’s name and “347” to signify his all-time career wins, the most in NFL history. Dolphins coaches and team personnel will also wear a pin with the patch design throughout the year. The team will wear the patch for the first time in the regular season against the New England Patriots on Sept. 13.
“Don Shula’s lasting impact on the Miami Dolphins, NFL and South Florida community is immeasurable,” said Miami Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross. “We are proud to continue honoring his historic life and legacy with a patch that is emblematic of his success on the football field as the winningest coach in our league’s history.”
This will be the first time in the Dolphins’ 54 seasons that a patch will be worn to honor an individual. In 2019, the team wore special helmet decals with the initials of Hall of Fame alumni who passed away, including linebacker Nick Buoniconti and center Jim Langer. The team had previously worn helmet stickers with their uniform numbers to honor the memories of active Dolphins players who had passed away, including running back David Overstreet (1984) and linebacker Larry Gordon (1983). The Dolphins wore a black armband on their jerseys with the initials “JR” in 1990 to honor the passing of team founder Joe Robbie.
Shula is survived by his wife, the former Mary Anne Stephens. At the time of his passing, their family together included eight children, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Miami Dolphins awarded Borders off waivers
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have been awarded cornerback Breon Borders off waivers from Pittsburgh.
Borders joins the Dolphins after playing 12 games in 2019 – one for Washington and 11 with one start for Jacksonville. He totaled seven tackles (six solo) and one fumble recovery with Jacksonville. Borders also appeared in one game with Jacksonville in 2018. He also spent time with Houston (2018), Buffalo (2017-18) and Oakland (2017). Borders originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Raiders on May 5, 2017.
